  • If the horror film in question had some connection to Benny Hill music then sure. I can't think of any horror film where the humans run Nascar around locations to play keep away. DbD relies on horror for its theme and design but the gameplay is anything but. Unless you want to argue it's trying to be like Scary Movie.

How about we just accept the reality of the simulation of a horror film is that some people will die without ending up giving much of a fight, maybe it lies to not only take you off the hook, but apply to some protection to ensure your survival. Maybe the Killer isnt toxic maybe the Killer is just doing his job.

You do realize that this isn't a horror film but a video game, right? You have to match entertainment, enjoyment, and the gameplay all together here. If you actually read my post, which you clearly didn't, my post mentioned positives for the killer from these changes. Literally no more flashlight saves and body blocking at hooks. And I never once said toxic anything in my OP. But by your logic the real face camping and real infinites should come back. People should just accept those and get better, right?

    I have a better idea:

make survs have unlimitted hook counts, but introduce a match timer (remove tunneling).

Hooked surv is become "ghost" for some time, and cannot perform actions, or make them teleport to random hook far from killer (remove camping).

Once gens are done, survs need to use both gate switches. If they do it, Killer is banished by the Entity. if they cannot do that before timer goes to 0, then all survs are sacrificed and dead by daylight (remove frustration for being best looper and only one who escapes).

Moste gameplay will stay the same, with only exceptions would be to make gameplay more thematic to the title, and remove most toxic behaviour from the game.

Don't think that would work as your idea is about taking the killer out by some means. Killers are backed by the entity. The entity wants the survivors to have hope not feel empowered. Gameplay wise that just sounds a bit odd even for DbD.

I think they talked about survivors on hooks tping around like PH cages in the past. Not sure how far it got but it obviously didn't go into the game.

Well only starting on p3-50-p3-50 max you should have 42 perks 1-39 62 perks 40-49 which means you have 62-207 perks for killer for example so thats 145 perks left averaging 2 perks a blood web 50k a web thats 3625000 bp. So on top of the 3 levels to 50 which should be about 2 million max each thats around 11.6 million bp which if averaging 4 stacks bbq and about 50k a game with no offering should be around 232 games which for each killer is a lot. However there are also supplements to leveling double bp offerings daily challenges, rift challenges which can shave off entire games worth of needed bp so that the average player might play around 150 games a month to max one character, 5 games a day which would be about an hour - hour and a half each day. Heres the thing new content is released around every 3 months which means for someone to be new to the game starting out they would have around right now 19 months worth of content + 6 months from the time the grind bought itself + 2 mouths the grind bought it self + 1 month for good measure. And thats just one side. While you might see it as a grind I see it as neccesary so that people don't get bored of the game and have everything unlocked 2 days after buying the game.

If grind is the only reason you don't get bored, or others, then you're not playing the game for the right reasons. I can play the game and stay at 1mil BP without spending any if I have all the perks currently as the gameplay draws me in not BP grind. The BP grind actually pushes me away if anything. Grind added into a game to artificially inflate the gametime is just poor and lazy design anyways. Besides like I said they could still grind for items, offerings, and add-ons. I could care less about all of those myself.

Let me point this out for you: if a new killer comes out, let's use Pyramid Head as an example, since he's a license you'll probably want to have him reach P3 for the bloody cosmetics. All the current perks available, plus his new ones, you're looking at spending over 12 mil+ BP. Then you'll also have to go back and spend BP on all the older killers to get his new perks on them. And if you play survivor as well then you have to do the same for all your survivors. It's extremely redundant and completely unnecessary grind.

I think it would be a good idea if more perks would get bp bonuses (Post trail ones).

I also think that prestige lvls should reduce the cost in bp, so there would be actually a reason to prestige your most played characters.

Eh that's just a bandaid fix. Removing tiers on perks and only having to get each perk once would cut the grind down by more than 50%. People would be free to spend BP to focus on getting add-ons, items, and offerings.

They actually do sort the perks in your loadout alphabetically, with a catch.

They are sorted alphabetically by RARITY. As in, Very Rare (Purple) perks will appear from A-Z, then Rare (Green) from A-Z, then Common (Yellow). I saved myself so much time building loadouts once I realized that this was the trick in place.

Though maybe it's high time that all perks were just considered Very Rare at their highest tier? Or Personal Perks should all be Very Rare and Universal Perks top out at Rare?

At least currently, there doesn't seem to be much rhyme nor reason why certain perks got certain rarities. (Like, why is Iron Will rare, but Monstrous Shrine is very rare?)

The whole rarity system needs to go if I'm being honest. Some of the green perks are actually better than some of the purples. Also it entirely depends on the situations in a match which perk would actually be powerful. Plus once you upgrade everything either it's green or purple so might as well remove color rarity and just sort by alphabet alone.
