  • As a player of both sides the chase is what I love the most about this game. It is really the true time you put your mind and skills against the other party. If you're looping a pallet as a killer and you haven't gotten a down after 20ish seconds the chase was just a waste of time. I'm no exceptional killer by any means but I know when to leave a chase. As a survivor I hate the people that hide all game as I'm usually the one who has to run around unhooking and doing gens all while trying to dodge a killer who is only really seeing me because everyone else is too busy urban evasioning at the edge of the map as soon as the hear a terror radius. I don't like hiding as a survivor, I like doing my tasks and the adrenaline rush I get from trying to outrun a killer. As a killer I'm much more satisfied when I down a survivor I was chasing rather than one who hiding in a bush. Do I think hiding is bad? No. There are times that it's extremely useful. But the game shouldn't be just based on your skill to hide.

The point of this game is the chase. That's what attracts quite a few people to this game, it's what attracted me (besides the cool killers and such). As a killer it's boring af to go against stealth survivors and to be honest I almost always 4k them as they're too timid to do gens or go for saves if I'm even so much as somewhat around the area.

Ikr dude, like how can you waste your own time just to piss the player on the other side? In the end game chat they both were just spamming "haha" and "lol" all over the place and were very proud of wasting my time

It's just an annoying waste of time and if my teammates try and pull this I'm flat out leading the killer to them. This is not how we're going to play dbd gamers.

  • Are you serious?? Why would anyone do something like that....? I'm sorry to hear that man, I hope the devs do something about it. That's just stupid dude.

  • From what I've been reading and having experience on both sides, SWF /can/ be a problem. There will always be advantages with swf over soloing because in general usually as long as you're decent you'll have more information.

My experience solo rank 1: Tunnled, left on hook to die, unreliable teammates, toxic teammates who T-Bag or point at me instead of save, or tunnled off first hook to be immediately mori'd and I basically did nothing but get chased and de-pip. (I personally like doing gens and find the constant bar going up soothing).

With SWF: Reliable team mates, I'm not left on hook too often, I have more information, killers still usually are a challenge so the game is still fun. People don't even realize I am in a swf half the time cause we all play on different consoles :-/ and we're not toxic. Most swfs are like 2-3 people who just play normally with a bit more information. Yes optimized four man swfs can destroy killers but even then I've seen killers wipe the floor with them (especially killers like spirit and hag).

Y'all seem to forget survivors rely on a team. You can't do 5 gens unhook and run the killer the whole game by yourself it's just not possible... Trust me I've tried. When I'm solo my teammates are usually so toxic or just sit and hide half the match while I'm being tunnled cause I'm the only one brave enough to stay around when I hear a terror radius. It's frustrating for killers and survivors and I don't like toxic/tryhards swfs. They make the game boring and overly competitive, but most swfs aren't like that. You probably go against/play with swfs all the time and just don't notice.

  • From experience of playing both games with and without friends there is some truth to this. However Among Us and Dead By Daylight are a bit different in the ways comms change gameplay.

In Among Us most of the time people play with mic muted until a meeting is called and those dead cannot speak as that ruins the game. Not everyone follows those rules and at that point it makes it to where comms make it impossible for the imposter to win (or in another case, for them to lose). Friends telling each other who imposter is basically ends the game.

In dbd friends on comms don't end the game. Personally I can't trust people at rank 1 as a survivor because I'm constantly abandoned and left on hook to die. I don't play toxic, I don't body block and do nothing but flashlight saves. I play normally with or without friends. Do I have more general information when I'm playing on comms? Yes. But I still get my ass handed to me almost every single match because we're normal players. We don't run sweaty builds, we run what we like and what's fun and fit for us. Also people seem to forget killers aren't supposed to get 4ks every single match, devs have said themselves you should get a 2k average. I added this because I almost never escape games, my friends and I get lucky if one of us gets out through hatch. Last thing I wish to note is as killer you rely on yourselves. As a survivor we have to rely on our team, it's impossible to win by yourself without going through hatch which is a 50/50 chance.

In summary not every swf are toxic tryhards, and sometimes really good survivors are genuinely in solo queue. And before you come at me saying "entitled survivor main", I play both, I've received toxicity from both sides. It's easier to counter as killer than a solo survivor or even a casual swf.
