The only reason it's 15 minutes would be because you've disconnected several times recently, it should only be 5 otherwise. In situations where I want to leave the game for whatever reason, I just let go on hook and get around the penalty.
Yeah it’s the 3rd time I’ve had this happen in the last 24 hours or so, the first game I just played through although it wasn’t enjoyable, the second time I played for a while after the other disconnects but in the end just followed suit and d/c’d too. It seems like D/C is used far too often as a means to not play bad games but it really ruins the game for anyone else left over.

I would have liked to see his knives apply different types of poisons (add-on dependent) so although needing to land more hits having that poison stack / tick over time would maybe make him feel more threatening and offer a different type of game play that involved poison / status effects and managing stacks on survivors.

Did Trickster touch you in a bad place or hurt you in a previous life?
If people want to play and enjoy him what’s the big deal? He interesting and a different style of play to Huntress and that reflected in how his skills play and he operates in the trial... I can’t see what the issue is (don’t like him, don’t play him, simples)

So killer, wow that was an interesting insight, everything feels different as a killer, but I don’t know if it’s a better or worse experience.
I’ve had 3 games so far, I’ll be honest game 1 was horrendous, it was obvious I didn’t know what I was doing and the Survivors punished me for it, only managing 3 hooks with everyone escaping. Game 2 was slightly better, I gave my first two gens up to focus on trapping the others (and their loops), I forced the Survivors to play near shack and trapping that and taking them down their really made my game easy, I managed to kill 3 but the 4th got the hatch. Game 3 was a disaster, some how I got matched with players far far far lower ranked than myself (all between 9-13), they all had flashlights and effectively it was a 30-40 minute teabag fest with what I could only describe as my worst time in a video game ever, effectively they held me hostage and I’m supposed to be the killer...

When friends are on, join them! When they are not, play killer. Its good to be practiced in both roles, as the game plays different for both, and you get to see how each plays.
My friends only play a couple of times a week so maybe you are right and I should give Killer a try.

Thanks for the replies, I’m a few days in now but I keep seeing the same activities over and over from both Survivors and Killers, if I’m first hook I might as well suicide as there is little point in hanging around just to be face-camped or hook-farmed while scoring no points myself...
I just had a game where I was on second hook, Killer chasing me with rest of team on zero hooks but they all just decided to hide rather than someone try to take a hit so I don’t have to keep focus and be out of the game... I really don’t know what to say as the “team” of survivors just feels like an “everyone-for-themselves” game with no one working together, I don’t even bother to take items into games anymore as I’m chucking them away before the game even starts.

Because right now, the balancing is horrible. If we start from the premise that 2 die and 2 escape, the killer needs to get between 6 and 10 hooks.
During the first chase, survivors usually complete between 2 and 3 gens. Means that survivors have done 40 to 60% of their objective. While the killer has completed 10% of his objective.
Poor balancing doesn’t seem to stop all the other e-sports game, LoL is (and always has been) horrendously balanced, they just turn it on its head and refer to it as that seasons “meta” lol!

As someone new to DBD, just curious as to why it ‘can’t” be an e-sports game?

Only played Survivor so far, but anything indoor just feels unwinnable, smaller maps and narrow corridors seem to favour the Killer, which is a good thing as some of the large maps seem to be hard work for any Killer that doesn’t have good mobility.

Does everything need representation? Can’t it just be a game and enjoyed for that and what it is (a game...)?
