I came to the forums just to mention this, glad I wasn't the first to notice it

I'm a particular fan of the film, and others have mentioned it as well, a Killer based on John Carpenter's The Thing. I feel it could work as long as there weren't any Survive With Friends going on. As soon as people are able to talk to each other, it'd break any advantage the Killer has.

I'm a massive fan of the entire Alien franchise, well almost the entire franchise, but I'm unsure of how to make the Xenomorph work within the confines of Dead by Daylight. As far as the question 'why would the xenomorph hang up its prey?' just look to Aliens and how the Xenos would carry back their prey to the hive for facehugger/egg implantation. For fun, they could have a little animation where the survivor is implanted by a facehugger or has a chestburster come out instead of the Entity giving them a ride to the sky. I think a bigger issue would be how the creature plays and what would its powers be. Having played AvP games going back to 2000, it's doable when built from the ground up, but I'm not sure if this particular game could handle a Killer running around walls, rooftops, and ceilings without having a glitch fit or outright breaking the game.

And while I singled out the "very rare" Insidious, I also received the Spies from the Shadows perk that I bumped up to level 2, and maxed out a few rare perks. It's not that I don't think I should have received any of the non-Killer specific perks, rather that I was able to max others out before I ever got ones for my character.

We're talking percentages. An item/perk with low rarity should show up more often than one with high rarity. I've played enough dungeon crawlers to understand that concept.

While the game does tend to favor more Slasher type tropes, I see no reason why a more 'out there' character couldn't be added. Many of the 'original' characters are inspired by classic horror monster types, including the recent Spirit who feels like she'd do well in a Japanese inspired American Horror movie from the early 2000s. They certainly wouldn't need to get the license for the Thing, just create a character with shapeshifting abilities inspired by John Carpenter's film.

The Thing is probably my favorite horror movie of all time, I legitimately created this profile just to post my idea for a Thing Killer. Alas, you beat me to it.
