I think almost no survivor has a problem with a killer being overpowered and/or losing. losing to perks that carry a killer is what leaves a bad taste in my mouth at least.
I would take an OP Killer as Long as there was more resources and much less oppressive slow down perks. This would give killers their excitement and survivors their chases back.
the lack of resources in the maps on top of slow down perks is what made Kaneki the Dull Merchant 2.0
Just my take on it.
In what universe was 2017 dbd a game with op killers besides nurse
early dbd was PURE survivor sided plain and simple unlike today where they're way closer in strength
only reason dbd may have felt killer sided early on was players not understanding the game (for example not understanding the strength of looping)
