  • I can only speak for myself but prestige cosmetics don't make me play any differently at least not consciously.

  • Sounds like a major source of "frustration" that new survivors face has to do with the effect it has on skill checks but if that's the case why not make ruin a flat but powerful generator repair slowdown? It would resolve the RNG aspect and then there's no Red Skillchecks which I can see how they would be demoralizing for new players, and it would also preserve the all important game slowdown aspect that people need ruin for in the first place. New Ruin throws the baby out with the bathwater and hurts all players with even moderate experience with the game for the benefit of a comparatively small number of number of newbies. (Using newbie neutrally and not as a pejorative by the way, for those who like to read ill intent into my words, you know who you are!)

I could imagine either left-clicking for the highest unlocked version or right-clicking to get a little popup on the cursor in which you could choose which tier you want to use.

I play on consoles so maybe X/Square or Y/Triangle for the perk tier menu on those.

  • I think players should be able to use all tiers of perks that they've collected in general since some people might prefer using weaker versions as self imposed challenges and the like, not sure how best to incorporate that into the UI though since having separate tiers of each perk would make the perk list even more cluttered than it already is, maybe a tier selection menu after picking a perk, although that would make last minute tweaks before a match harder so maybe there's a better way that I haven't thought of.

  • They aren't impossible to unlock I got them all and I haven't played prior to the emblem change however the score requirements do get much much harder as rank increases to the point of being borderline impossible. At low enough ranks it's actually possible to get them with only 3 kills so the disparity is incredibly egregious. I think the best solution would be making it so that a 4k counts no matter what the emblem score is, or getting a merciless victory either one will unlock the achievement/trophy. In the meantime as much it sucks, the best advice I can give would be to either wait for rank reset or depip yourself until the score requirements become more feasible.
