Do you not think the devs have considered this? You have to remember, they have access to metrics we do not see. I would assume they track matchmaking and make tweaks based on those metrics and other factors.

Thats how they claimed it was supposed to be in the first place. It took the average of the SWF lobby and found a killer that was around that average. Even then though, I've had matches that our lowest was a Rank 16 and highest was 4 and we'd get matched against a Rank 20 for some reason, when we should have got something closer to rank 10-8.

  • As someone who floats a little over Rank 10 who likes to play with my friends, one of which is regularly low red ranks, I have not had fun playing this last week. Our options right now are play against killers us lower ranks are clearly outmatched by and get tunneled cause we're an obvious easy kill, or exclude our high rank friend so the rest of us can have fairer matches. On top of that, match making feels like its taking a lot longer.

Instead of tweaking it so that it just takes the highest rank, they should have just fixed it so it actually takes the average and not just grabbing a killer somewhere between highest and lowest like it seems to do, cause even then we'd still get Rank 20 killers when nobody in our group was that low.

As it stands, our high rank friend is considering either throwing matches so he can derank, or just not playing for a few months so rank reset can drop him low enough for the rest of the group to have fun. As a player who enjoys doing SWF because playing with randos isn't as fun, I don't wanna play as much either cause if we have to exclude someone because the matchmaking is garbage, then we'd rather just play something else that we don't need to exclude someone to all have fun.

  • This just reeks of "git gud"

I admittedly don't play the game a lot with my higher rank friends because I know I'm not good at looping or 360ing or any if that, so I'm an easy kill and end up dying first unless the killer is tunneling my friend who IS good at looping for 5 minutes. As someone else said, low rank killers have a lot of people who tunnel and camp and it turns a lot of people away from the game. I have a few friends who I tried to get into the game on free weekends but they didnt like it because the game has a steep learning curve and getting camped doesnt make the game fun to play even with friends.

  • Literally making an account just to +1 this, but yeah, playing Killer is terrible for red/green color blind folks. Trying to track blood is pointless on any map that doesn't have light colored floors. I've lost plenty of survivors because they broke line of sight and I can't see the scratch marks on the ground well enough to follow them. Playing Spirit is pretty impossible since the only sight her power allows is a method I struggle to see properly. Red on any sort of dark color is hard to see, so I sometimes have to stop and actively look for where generator auras or totems are, sometimes I even need to try and find a more lightly colored wall to stare at just for contrast... so many of the aura perks are useless to me because of red on black/dark brown.

It sucks that in the day and age where accessibility options for this sort of thing are extremely common, browsing through this thread, absolutely nothing is being done about it.
