https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/333778/question-on-tunnelling-for-killers
i play both sides, have plenty of hours and.... anyone who thinks that is bad is dumb. The survivors who cry and complain about camping and tunneling are the ones who stay by hook. Downed a jeff early in game and seen a claudette behind a rock while i was trying to snipe with bitter, ignored her because no hatchets and didnt care. I hook him and she is nowhere to be seen but i refuse to waste time when 1 gen was already done. I hooked him by shack and as i leave i spot her and she starts looping at killershack and because jeff had kindred she could see my mindgames. Called me out for camping and said i wouldnt be able to catch her... blendette got hatch and never took chase and when she did she had aura reading :| anywho that jeff died on hook because she refused to 1v1 or run the loop instead she hid and avoided my line of sight and then on steam the jeff said i facecamped.
survivors like this arent good or just are dumb. When i get camped after looping a killer its a compliment and same for being tunneled. if my teammates refuse to 1 for 1 when they havent been hooked i blame them and i blame them when the killer loops around my hook. You punish bt plays and you punish saves, thats how you play killer. if you just go for another survivor and play fair the whole time you cant alway win. I posted a video to youtube of a 18-19 minute match against a good console swf. I made multiple wrong choices in how i left and didnt play mean, the only reason i 4k is their greed.
Dont be afraid to play to win, as long as you arent tunneling and camping for no reason you are good, but punishing survivors is what you do. and if you come across a good survivor who still doesnt understand then they are either new or just dumb, most people who play this game alot understand the struggles of each role
I had a time with what seemed to be a relatively good/experienced swf especially when it comes to saves. Downed someone by a pallet, seen someone waiting to pallet me. So I downed them… by another pallet. Hooked the first one and went to pick up the next, lo and behold they are waiting to pallet me, then spot their other team mate coming over.
great for me, now I know there are no gems being done whatsoever I’ve not got to push gens and because the downed survivor would not move from pallet and he was so close to the hooked survivor the other two they were stuggling to heal or unhook because I was ‘camping’ them.
I think they expected me to pick them up and allow the free save them go check gens that I know we’re not being done

There literally doesnt need to be any conversations about camping or tunneling. People can argue for and against, valid startegy vs unfair.
The only hard fact that remains is it puts people off the game the more they see it, the gane is dying slowly and will continue to do so, its stale and boring and changing a bunch of perks isnt going to change anything about how people play.
I agree and disagree at the same time, although you are on point they can’t just change a load of perks and call it a day but it will shake things up and if they make continuous changes to mechanics and perks to shake things up more often it could keep the game more lively and fun to fun to play. I can already see a lot of issues with the update coming

95% of the time someone complains about tunneling or camping in after game chat it's just sore losing. Just ignore it.
That’s why I brought it here. Just more of a discussion on peoples thoughts when they are not heated from the game 😂 once people are calm and look at it in a forum they will admit that it’s not tunnelling. But once they are in a game and that happens they will be sure to say you’re a tunneller and wouldn’t admit otherwise. This is why I’m willing to bet not a single survivor in this thread is going to say it’s tunnelling (unless they just come out of a game where they were tunnelled) 😂

I play both sides and neither of those situations do I consider tunneling and I just roll my eyes and ignore them if anyone ever accuses me of doing that because there will be no talking it through with them
I prefer not to tunnel but if you're going to actively get in my way when I am trying to go for the unhooker, that's on you, not on me.

Survivor main mostly, but I've played Killer, too.
No, that's not tunneling to me. Don't worry about what they said.
have to point it out when they do say it, but I just wanted to make the discussion more to know what everyone else thinks. Mostly I’ll ignore the one baiting if I can but when they physically block me from going anywhere the countdown starts 😂 sometimes I’ll hit them and just carry on but not at that point of the game. It’s really the same scenario with DC where they hide in lockers purposefully, expecting you pick them up so they can stun and run and then they expect to be left alone 😂 I’m like Nahh mate 😂

Of course they called me a tunneller in end game chat just fyi

I don’t see why so many people are against this post?
because this change is good for them. It's good for anyone who has most perks on all killers -> you get every killer prestige 3.
My comment wasn’t showing the first time so I typed a different on that’s why there are 2 haha.
that is true. For killer I think it may be slightly better, because that’s where you may want to shake things up with different killers, but it’s guaranteed worse for survivors

The grind has increased. It took around 40 mill to upgrade every character to level 40 with 1 character with all perks at tier 3.
now it costs 140 mill to upgrade every character to get tier 1 perks for every character.
someone said new players like to shake it up and use more than one character, o don’t think this is true… main reason they change is to unlock other perks, or use items in the inventory they’ve got from having to upgrade it when they run out of good inventory items with there main survivor.
shaking things up with a different survivor is purely cosmetic…. Not decreasing a ‘competitive grind’ just decreasing the ‘cosmetic grind’ atleast for survivors…. I don’t get how people think it’s better… I think these are the veteran players who will benefit with this…
not the ones who have not got the perks yet… they will still have fallen behind… now talking about shaking things up… people much prefer to shake things up with perk builds than what character they are going to use for that game. Something that actually affects how you play the game.

yes there may be little difference between some tier 3 perks compared to tier 1 some only increasing by like 2 seconds, but in this game it’s proven to be pretty vital, hence why the new update has sped cool-downs and things by a mere 0.2 seconds, ds cool-down by 2 seconds…. These things can really make the difference.
im not a starter but I switched to pc from console so my grind has restarted, grinding as much as I can before this official release so I can get hopefully atleast 50% of my perks.
someone who said new players will like to shake it up I think are completely wrong… okay yes I WOULD like the privalage of using my other characters… mainly because of items I’ve got from having to level them up in the first place… other than that your only shaking it up for ‘cosmetic reasons’ whereas now it’s vital to get prestige 3 to get the perks at their best.
getting all characters to level 40 then going back to just one character and unlocking all perks is better than this system (atleast for survivors) like I said, the only reason to unlock all perks on all survivors is cosmetic reasons literally just a change of looks for your character and to do this you need to prestige 3 times.
lets not forget the fact you now need to decide wether to unlock tier 3 on the perks you want or tier 1 for each then work on upgrading those perks. Meaning you may only have 3 unlocked perks for 3 prestige’s then move onto your next character.
my point is, regardless of the entities randomness, it’s still faster to upgrade perks that way on ONE character and always have the CHOICE to go back to that character and use perls uyou like, than prestiging each and every one 3 times individually.
29 survivors… atm blood points to reach 50 is roughly 1.6 mill… assuming it stays that way you spend 4.8 mill to unlock 3 tier 3 perks times this by 29 Is 139.2 mill
the last video I watched to upgrade every character to 40 and then unlock ALL perks on ONE character cost roughly 33 mill, which has gone up since then but not by a whole lot, costing us another 106 mill to get all out perks to tier 3.. maybe I’m not understanding how it’s going to work, but I can’t see how this is a grind decrease.
Just upgrading all 29 characters to level 50 atm costs around 46.4 mill… so what do you take away from that?
well before let’s say it costs around 40mill now to get all perks on one character… even with the randomness of the entity it still costs less bots to get all tier 3 perks on character, than it is to unlock all tier 1 perks on every character. The only reason this would have decreased grind is if changing characters are new players biggest concerns with the game, but it’s not, unlocking perks is. For survivor its purely cosmetic.
