I think that the problem is more about hook urgency issue than camping/tunneling. A hooked survivor shouldn't become a point of interest for both sides rather than just the survivors, but in the current state it is an urgent enough of a ordeal that it's a considerable point for the survivors to a degree where it's automatically one for the killer too. Even if the survivors punish the move by finishing gens then the matter of urgency just becomes a higher priority and an even more precise point of interest as the time on hook runs low which means that it's guaranteed a survivor will be there so why run away to look for one? It'd just take some changes to the design of it involving Monstrous Shrine and Reassurance type of mechanics to it regarding the killer hovering the area and how much it takes for the hook timer to run out

For me it is quite the opposite. I have less than 50 hours in the game and I keep getting killers that have 40 times the hours that I have that play meta builds and use strong addons against whom I can loop for about 20 seconds mostly thanks to Sprint Burst. Last night a Wesker killed me in 2 minutes from first to third hook stage. These matches are so abundant and problematic that I quit the game for about half a year and came back because a few friends of mine wanted to play; only to face the same problem of being a noob survivor with <50hours going up against +2000 hour killers that have everything unlocked. It is superbly horrible and most likely why this game does not attract new players
I could just uninstall again, but the game is enjoyable to play every now and then for a match or two. However if I see something like corrupt intervention right from the getgo I just alt+f4 and swap games. Sometimes when I get into a lobby with high tiered/prestiged/whatever survivors and I know that the killer is going to be about the same I send everyone to RPD, sit on gens for as long as the killer comes to me and suicide on the first hook and THEN go play another game. I blocked one group from going to the garden of joy with this once and man was it a good laugh. Good times

It's not really the skill and perks and whatever that are the issue for me. Most killers have pretty straightforward mechanics and I'm sure that there are preferable things in gameplay you wanna do when going against them. But it's not like I've needed any of that when the killer and the other survivors have been just as bad as I have. None of this is really the issue, especially since you need those hours to begin with to get the most oppressive perks on most killers so it comes together with the issue
For now I think I'm just not gonna play the game and stick to other games. It's not like I have any friends playing the game either, mostly because of these problems

I would prefer waiting for 30 minutes. I don't really see what's the point of me playing against these killers or with these survivors. Because I really don't get to play the game at all the way these matchups are happening right now. I would love to get some experience from these, but it is in practise impossible because of the ginormous gap between us

Broken? Is there even one? Because 3 games in a row I just got turbotunneled out of the game by the swaggiest killers out there and I can't even do anything. The gameplay is more like I do one gen, get downed, get unhooked, I drop one pallet, I die, I get unhooked, I die again and onto the next game. This is just trash

It's called gameplay objectives. The main objective is escaping which entails the objectives of doing 5 gens and opening the gate. That's it. If you don't like this then are you sure you're playing the right game? Are you sure you shouldn't be playing killer for other objectives?
The rest is pretty much subjective and the last thing you'd ever want to say about subjective game related things is generalizing and dictating the motives for other players' reasons to play or enjoy a game or anything basically. As soon as you start doing that you're pretty much in the wrong from the beginning. On the contrary being very specific and verbal about what you think and how you yourself see things unfolding is fine. If you want to farm your teammates and yourself because you want to be overly altruistic instead of progressing the game if the killer is camping then I'd say that's pretty much your own choice

From a new player's experience (albeit less informed, experienced and valuable) I have to personally hard disagree on this. I've had more fun playing against other killers than the knight. That's because I've felt like I've been able to stall properly against other killers on loops, but against the knights they just mostly instadrop their knight to get a hit and repeat this 2 times

I was thinking about this as a newer player. Even though I can pretty much keep count of my games since they're in the double digits (and my killer winrate is 100% with 3 games where a survivor escaped through hatch or gates) it'd be very nice to actually see where I'm at and also maybe understand what I should be doing in the games. Because right now it's just me going somewhere, seeing a survivor, killing them and then going between Tinkerer and unhooking notifications until the game ends
-
As a double digit fresh player I feel like the notification is something I always have to take into consideration while playing both killer and a survivor as the priority #1. After being unhooked as a survivor it doesn't really feel like there's an alternative to running across the map unless there are 2 survivors with medkits right there since as far as I remember any other scenario just led to me being hooked again within the next minute. Then again when I play Hillbilly or Wraith, since I don't have the perks to keep map pressure, I feel compelled to instantly go there to keep the intense pressure up as long as I'm not in a chase and sometimes even when I'm in a chase but the survivor has good loops (shack into a nearby pallet since I don't have clown of bamboozle to deal with shack)
I can't help but feel like hanging on the hook should be way less punishing and seeing a teammate hang on a hook should be less scary. If you could hang on longer I feel like the feeling of urgency wouldn't be so bad. Everyone seems to be just kamikazing towards hooks quite often or at least more often than it should happen
But I'm a noob in the game itself while mostly just being a DbD content enjoyer so that might just be me
