  • In terms of free characters go Kate Denison for Boil Over and Windows, then Jake Park for Iron Will, then I would go for Bill for Unbreakable, but David King and Dead Hard is good too

  • I’m a new player and only have something over 40 hours in the last few month playing on an old switch lite in my spare time, so I’m not competitive to say the least. I started recently and I’ve always heard and been told ‘this game is not beginner friendly’ and yada yada. I honestly think a big problem with the survivor meta right now is the players themselves. While it’s great as a new survivor that you can be put on a team with a great team and they can just kinda be carried along while they learn the game, once you get good (or okay in my case) at the game, it kinda sucks to play survivor. Because you know to unhook, you know to do gens, you know at least a little bit on looping the killer, and then the rest of your team just wanders around without even looking at a gen or running as soon as they hear terror radius, and will never go for a mildly risky unhook or taking a hit for someone dead on hook or lord forbid an exchange. It’s unfun when you constantly get just put on with people who don’t know what they’re doing.

I feel like I’ve kinda been forced into maining killer because as fun as it is for me, it just feels impossible half the time to even get a chance to practice survivor outside of a bot game. Playing killer isn’t even fun half the time because I’ll play Myers against new players who think ‘haha I’ll teabag on the other side of this pallet for a year why isn’t he getting me so funny haha’ because they don’t even know what the stalk mechanic is. It’s kinda funny, but makes for really boring games. Same thing with people who don’t even know you can disarm a Trapper’s traps. It’s just unfun in general. But I guess that makes me a masochist for playing dbd almost exclusively lol

  • it’s not super super common for me, but I notice a lack of altruism on a lot of solo q lobbies to the point where I’ll either die on stage two or I’ll go from one to two on one hook, and it sucks. It seems to be a lot of new players just not knowing better though, since if I’m in a lobby with all level ones or something like that, that’s when I see issues. I pretty much just sigh and hope they learn to unhook people with time when they keep losing games because of it.

  • For me personally, it sucks that they don’t have huge BP payouts bc they’re both my mains lol. I usually bring a yellow or green shrike wreath or raven wreath on trapper since if I set enough traps I get a decent bonus on deviousness with Raven, and I always go for a yellow or green spotted owl wreath on Myers since I seem to almost always max my chase on him since I stalk often. It would be real nice if I didn’t have to use my offering on bp all the time though lol

  • Dwight. Always Dwight. (Jk kinda)

I usually go for whoever is at the furthest hook stage I can remember if they’re close enough. Otherwise, I follow whoever’s closest or is headed through a dead zone.

  • I’m a newer player and only started a few weeks before 2v8 started. Personally, I’m not a fan. I’m still trying to get good at the game, so maybe it’s just me, but it just feels luck based on who you survive with. If you get a bunch of people who don’t touch gens or rescues and just run around aimlessly, you’re cooked. I’ve been playing it a lot though because of the surv queue bonus. Makes it real easy to get BPs and just level up the new killers I bought, so at least there’s that.

  • I feel like it all depends on who’s in your game. There’s not enough players to get a full 8 survivors a lot of the time so I usually end up with a bot or two. I know it’s hypocritical since I’m also new, but you also end up with a high number of new players that just run and hide instead of popping gens or actually doing anything helpful. If you’re lucky enough to get a high number of good survivors, then I’d say it would probably be survivor leaning, but if you get a few bots and/ or bad players, it’s pretty easy for killers to dominate. Personally, I know I’m a pretty ######### player, but I rarely make it to even see all the gens get popped because only two people do saves and they’re on the other side of the map by my second stage. That’s just my experience, though.

  • I was just thinking about this. I’m a new player that started about two weeks before 2v8 got released and I’m just waiting for the event to end. I waited in killer queue for at least seven minutes multiple times and haven’t gotten anything in days. I usually switch to killer when I’m getting into a funk with survivor as a pick-me-up and I haven’t been able to do that at all. Only thing I use 2v8 for is the 400% survivor queue bonus, but it just sucks overall.

Same thing with the bot issues. Maybe a lot of people are facing the same issues with not having fun and that’s killing the player base until the event ends? That’s my guess. Because even in normal I almost always end up with a bot survivor and that ends the game before it even begins. Overall sucks, they need better incentives on normal.
