I really enjoy the idea of this. The fact that it rewards Killers for hooking different Survivors is huge! So many Killers love to tunnel and that just is not fun for that Survivor or their team. The part where the Hex trumps all Survivor perks that give additional bonus progression to great skill checks seems a bit unnecessary. Also, the skill check regression would be very debilitating for new/casual Survivors. I don't feel the 50% bonus great skill check size is going to balance out the skill check penalties described. A lot of new/casual Survivors don't have the ability to hit normal skill checks. Put into realistic game play, I can't see Survivors handling this version of Ruin very well. Still absolutely love the token system on hooking unique Survivors though!

Instead of a punishment, I looked at leveling my perks as a reward. When I was a baby Survivor it made sense to use baby perks. As I gained more experience and put more time into the game, I knew I needed to acquire better skills. Putting hard work towards being able to attain a higher level of perk made getting them that much more fulfilling. If we got rid of the perk tiers all together, what would we strive for as lower level players? Doing the rift over and over only offers rewards that don't actually enhance our game play. What would we use all of our bloodpoints for that we get after each match, doing tomes and as special rewards when we first start playing? I certainly wouldn't have wanted to prestige a character just for funsies and an outfit. The items and add ons we get can be nice but, even for an item hoarder like myself, there's little gratification in receiving the same stuff over and over. While, yes it could be tedious and looked at as a punishment, I do think the perk tier system is a good element to have for players.

This sounds like an interesting Killer idea. All I can keep thinking about is the fantastic cosmetic options!!!!

It's sad to see the event spirit slowly diminishing year by year. When I first started playing there were a ton of Killers who would have fun and play around more with the Survivors. All in good holiday spirit. Year after year the number of holiday spirit Killers has died out. This year I encountered maybe one or two Killers who would have a good time in our games. Most of them slugged, tunneled and camped the ENTIRE event. I don't get it. Yes, it's a game. Yes, it's competitive. However, is it really that awful for Killers to have a little holiday spirit?

Distortion has most certainly fallen from glory. Personally, I don't agree with the common assessment that this perk was just used to hide all game. As someone who commonly used Distortion, I wasn't playing that way. I don't mind the changes to recharging your tokens. Being in chase with the Killer is part of the game. They will eventually find you, it's just something to be expected. I do wish we could have up to our original 3 tokens though. While I do see the argument in Distortion "unfairly" countering bbq and lethal, so do lockers. There are other Killer perks that absolutely annihilate our tokens though, such as Gearhead or Hex: Undying. I feel starting with the original 3 tokens, being able to gain back a max of 3 tokens at a time and having your tokens recharge while in chase would balance this perk back into a useful perk for survivors.
