Why don’t solos have voice comms:
1) Because on all platforms you have to ability to voice chat through another system.
1.5) While BHVR can’t rip SWF out, the game was never intended to have voice chat in any capacity. Unless the core of the game changes, this won’t happen.
2.) As much as people say solo survivor is super weak, I think people are forgetting that survivor gameplay is practically hand holding at this point. At this point if you’re having a hard time pipping as survivor you legit need to have someone analyze your gameplay cause I can literally black pip by camping every pallet I encounter and recognizing at least one strong structure to dry hump and the killer will ignore me, resulting in at least two gens getting done.
3) [big shock incoming] most people aren’t exactly very pleasant to talk to in this game. If my DM’s are any indication of survivor entitlement I don’t wanna hear it all game. Not to mention people who play music, have screaming kids, are screaming kids themselves, and just draining.
4) If all survivors had free voice chat (wether it was auto opt out or not) this makes a large handful of really fun and useful perks blatantly useless for both sides.

Legion has like 3 drawbacks for every positive in their arsenal. Even removing one negative can have a good effect.
Run Faster in Power: Non-Lethal, Can’t see Scratches/Blood pools, Whiffs cancel the whole thing.
Vault Pallets: Stuns take you out of the whole power, no collision when vaulting, requires UR to break pallet with power.
Tracking Tool with Killer Instinct: still a buggy mess as KI still sometimes doesn’t show heartbeats, duration is too short for the time, fatigue too punishing.
Addons: Either worthless to bring (Frank’s/SWS/Fuming Tape/increases detection), a requirement to use (cold dirt/joeys, Iri Button/Sketchbook, Legion Pin/Duration), or effect is nearly unnoticeable because value is too small (every brown and yellow addon)
This still leaves out M1’s remove a large chunk, locker grabs remove the whole bar, there not being any mechanic for cancelling intentionally for a shorter stun, no reward for chaining hits without expensive addons, or the fact other killers still are allowed interesting gameplay options with their addons while Legion’s addons can potentially make you lose the game by trying to make them work

The survivors can only escape using teamwork. Solo/selfish play just gets you all killed. Even if you’re the best looper in the entire world, if your teammates aren’t doing gens, how close are you to escaping?
If you don’t save your teammates, what reason should you be given any different treatment?
Playing like a 1v1v1v1v1 just makes the killers job that much easier.

I say no only because I love forcing salty survivors to go through the whole process of clicking my name, adding me to a group and typing out each letter of each word manually.
Plus there are things that people could say in the chat box that don’t get regulated. Y’all on PC can keep your death threats and racism and ######### threats there. Try that on PSN and Sony will just straight nuke you. Angry PSN messages are like the equivalent of a dog on a 3 inch leash.

Rather than delete I would be more open to “vote most to rework”
Killer: Overwhelming Presence. Unless I’m playing perk roulette, there’s no real reason to run this, even on big TR doctor builds.
Survivor: Object of Obsession or No Mither. The two have much more potential to be interesting but they both fall flat in terms of fun.

So it’s Hillbilly with slower movement and no instadown.
Hey, maybe they can let exposed effects work with it since you lose the whole power of you whiff.

It’d be nice to have the option but also have other survivors default muted so that way you aren’t forced into it. Not every game I want to take seriously and as emotionally taxing as this game is from time to time, sometimes I just don’t have the energy to listen to someone either critique my build, tell me I’m bad when I make a mistake, or do their best impression of the Dbd wiki and tell me everything about this game.
