  • I'd take a objective-defending Trapper over 3 x "I will only unhook you if you're in second stage, the killer's right behind me and I don't have BT" teammates any day.

There's four options you can do to increase your chance at escaping via the gates. Three of the four benefit from having "Wake Up".

Option 1: If you know where the hatch is, but believe the killer also knows where the hatch is, find the furthest gate and wait for it to be ready to be opened, then when the hatch is closed, book it before the killer gets there to check. If the hatch is far enough away, the killer will have no time to get back to the door in time.

Option 2: Do a bit of the gate, but not enough that one of the lights turn on (less than 20%), then let go of the gate and go back to hiding until the killer passes by again. This makes the gate look like it has been untouched, when really it will take only approximately 16 seconds to open instead of 20. 4 seconds can make all the difference, even if the gates are relatively close to each other, so long as they are not in view of one another.

Option 3: Do a gate until a light DOES turn on, and then get the hell out of dodge and circle back around to the other gate. When the killer returns to check on that door, they may think you are still in the area and may spend more time than normal investigating. Meanwhile, you are now actually opening up the other one they just left. Even with gates close together, this can still work, so long as the gates again aren't in visual range from one another.

Option 4: Pray to RNGesus, hope you find a key and escape via the hatch. Alternatively, just bring a key of your own.

Option 2 and 3 have both worked for me on several occasions. I've found 3 difficult to execute on the biggest maps as it's very time consuming, but it can absolutely work.

  • 3/3 games so far today have had rage DCs within a minute of the match starting and tunneling killers, despite every game having at least one Bloody Party Streamer (or the event version).

There's no way any of those killers earned any more than a safety pip. It's pointless. Did "make survivors de-pip" become a killer victory condition with the patch?
