If you're so far away they won't bother chasing you anyway. The thing is you can't sneak up on the box consistenly
The thing is the Pinhead we played ONLY targetted the person with the box. I'm saying this playstyle paired with the build is problematic, not just the build.

Lery's doesn't feel very fun for either side for me. There are way too many killers who have their powers essentially removed because of the layout of the map. This not only makes it less fun for the killer, but also for the survivor. I'd rather play against a killer with a power than a basic attack machine.
-
At ranks 1-2 most killers get bodied by survivors. Killer is not too easy for most people. There are realistically only a handful of people in the world that can jump into a game with any killer and get a 4k with bad perks.

I think the chapter as a whole is great. I think the Trickster himself is fun, but EXTREMELY bad. Once he gets buffed the release will be *chefs kiss*.

The MMR is as much an embarrasing failure as it was last time.
As survivor its pitted me against green rank killers who seem to only be able to get kills via NOED. It puts me with complete potato survivors too.
"mAyBe Ur JuSt nOt aS gOOd aS u ThiNk u R"
No there is clearly a discrepancy between survivor skill. How is it that some survivors are lasting about 10 seconds per chase against a killer, meanwhile that killer lands literally 1 hit max on me throughout the entire trial? is this how you balance it? 2 good survivors and 2 terrible? because that's how it was with MMR off too.
If that was all it would be DBD as normal but oh no, then the real beauty of the MMR slips in
Red rank killers vs grey rank survivors. I've literally seen a rank 1 Nurse being given a rank 20 survivor
"mAybE RaNkS DonT mAtTEr aNd thAt sUrVivOr iS ReaLLy goOd"
No they have about a tenth of the hours the killers have in the game and it shows. Once again you're clearly putting beginners against pros.
At this point it's time to throw in the towel. The MMR scheme is clearly beyond your limits, either outsource it to someone who knows what they're doing or pull the plug on it because it's only hurting the game every time it's tested. I haven't even tried killer yet but if it's anything like last time I can no doubt look forward to long queue times and be given 10,000 hour swf for my Trapper and Wraith and fresh meat rank 20s for my Spirit and Clown.

I've played 7 matches since skill based matchmaking has been live. I'd say that I have above average skill as a killer player and usually remain as a rank 1 killer for the entirety of the month. I play all of the killers a decent amount, but some more than others. Out of these 7 matches, five of them were on the Hillybilly, who I only play on occasion but still often 4k with. The other two matches were with the nurse, who I consider one of my mains and 4k most of my matches.
This is the end game screen after my fifth game as the Hillybilly. Similar to the other four matches I played as him, the survivors were clearly new and only completed one generator. That said, unlike the other matches, there was one survivor who seemed to know basic looping that I chased for a decent amount of time.
This is the end game screen after my second match as the Nurse. The survivors in these two matches were substantially better, but still only completed one or two generators each.
Overall thoughts on the system:
- It seemed like the system did not know what to do with my Hillbilly. The survivors that I matched with (not trying to be conceited or rude) needed more experience to fare well against me.
- While the survivors placed against my nurse were closer to the mark, they still came up short in the end. However, I think these survivors served as a much better "test" run of my skill than the survivors of the Hillbilly matches.
- If the system is supposed to be updating your skill after every match, it's hard to tell if it was doing this. I realize I didn't play a ton of matches, but all of my Hillbilly matches were around five minutes. I would imagine that the system would say "okay, he needs to be placed with better survivors." However, I did not really notice the skill of the survivors increasing over the course of the matches. Even the fifth game featured an instance of the survivor running directly into me during chase.
- Queue times were significantly longer for the Hillbilly. I sat in queue around 7 minutes on average, resulting in 5 games over 100 minutes or so. Before SBM, queues would only take around 2 minutes at longest. I feel my active playtime was substantially shorter than when I normally play. Nurse queue times were longer than average, but nothing too bad. Around 2-3 minutes each.
- As someone who plays every killer, I'm worried about the effect that SBM will have on my matches. Hillbilly is probably around my 10th most played killer, yet I was still playing new survivors. I'm not feeling confident about what will happen when I play someone like doctor, whom I play infrequently. If I need to play one of my top 3 killers in order to match against decent survivors, then I'm missing out on the other 19.
I realize that I didn't play that many matches. In terms of a lab experiment, seven tests is not a significant number to prove anything. Unfortunately I don't have more time to spend testing the system at the moment, so these are my initial thoughts. This is why I played 5 Hillbilly games, in order to test the improvement of the survivors over time. I have faith that the system will continue to improve, but I'm currently skeptical about the addition of SBM at this very moment.

Ranks themselves (the numbers) are not factored in your SBM - it is the SBM of each of your killer you play individually and the SBM of the survivors you face which would be similar to the killer you play. It is possible high "rank" may face low "rank" now, but the numbers per se are not what's important. Still, in regards of everything, it is being monitored overall how it affect the players
Yeah I gotcha. This isn't meant to be a knock towards the devs or anything, so I'm sorry if it came off that way. It was more meant to be a meme. That said, my matches with sbmm have all been with players still wet behind the ears. This is just my representation of that. I have confidence in the team to adjust the system eventually!

how often do you play billy? just for reference
I play all of the killers a decent amount but I've left Billy almost untouched until recently. In the past two months I'd say I have around 15-20 games on him, roughly.

I forgot to mention that it took me about 5 times longer than usual to find a match. I'm PRAYING that the search gets better over time (both in terms of time and skill).

There are a few hot takes in here. Personally, here's what I think:
(Opinions are based on the perspective of a rank 1 killer main, but I also play enough survivor to hit rank 1. This list is also generally assuming no addons)
-Hag too low
- She can be EXTREMELY oppressive on many maps, and slightly less so on others. All in all, it is VERY hard to challenge a Hag with traps down. Probably S tier behind Nurse and Spirit.
-Demo too high
- His portals can be good for tracking and transportation on large maps, but theyre usually just not enough. His shred is also not good enough in chase to justify putting him over killers like Huntress and Doctor. He's mostly an M1 killer with a good pallet breaking tool. Low B tier at best, probably C tier though.
-Wraith WAY too high
- His playstyle is more suited for hitting one survivor and then changing targets with cloak. In a game where tunneling a single survivor is actually optimal (but bm), he's naturally a bad killer. Without addons I think he's pretty easily the worst in the game. With addons? Probably second worst.
-Twins WAY too low
- You have to play them as sluggers and hook patrol killers, but the twins are REALLY good at doing those two things. Their matches tend to be long and tiresome, but they are effective. Probably A tier.
-Michael too high
- Michael will probably lose a generator before he gets to tier 2. Being able to insta-down is really nice, but stalking is just such a hinderance to most games that he's probably in D tier for me, which is a shame.
-Legion too low
- I genuinely don't know why people think Legion is so bad. Keeping people injured is a really valuable asset. Their power isn't of much use in chase, but being able to keep most survivors on one health state makes chases shorter and easier. If they heal, even better. Probably high C tier.
I don't know what's considered the hot take anymore in terms of Billy and Bubba, but I'd probably put Bubba above Billy except for at the absolute highest level.

Flashlights are not broken at all, if all they even nerfed them. Blinding time has been the same since ages.
If you got blinded from your neck its because the survivor got the timing right and the blind was registered already.
Flashlight saves on locker grabs are actually one of the most skillfull actions survivors can perform.
If all flashlights need a buff
If they buffed current flashlights every killer main would quit the game. This is not an exaggeration. If I'm getting blinded from behind then I'd better be playing killers with more than 2 eyes.
