  • Had this happen to me tonight. Survivor came into my chat afterwards to say they knew it was a bug too and were exploiting it. It honestly doesn't make a difference to the outcome of the game but can still be annoying to deal with. Here's a clip of it happening to me: https://clips.twitch.tv/FriendlyCautiousCourgetteLeeroyJenkins-pdK16phlJ-ki-H3g.

  • In all honesty I am very disappointed.. not just in the patch but the fact that the contents of this patch were pushed to live.

The PTB is supposed to be a place the community goes to leave feedback on upcoming content. It is my understanding, and the communities understanding, that the contents of this patch were viewed extremely negatively. When none of our suggestions were taking into account and the same content that was reviewed negatively by the community was pushed to live it felt like the Dev's did not take our viewpoint seriously or even care. What is the point of testing out new content on the PTB if Dev's just ignore our feedback and then ship the patch full of game breaking bugs. Why even have the PTB as an option if this is how the community is treated? It feels like the Dev's are no longer making a game for it's already passionate community but instead focusing on what they think new players (who haven't even purchased the game yet) MIGHT enjoy.

As for the contents of this patch there are 3 major issues I have.

    1) I personally enjoy the new player animations. I know that is not the case with many others and while I do agree that the animations don't look 'more realistic' it did make the game feel more polished. However, it is causing major motion sickness not just for myself but for others as well. Your game should not be making people feel physically sick, that is incredibly irresponsible. If you had listened to player feedback and allowed for proper testing this could have been completely avoided.

    2) Hitboxes and hit validation have never been worse.. in any game I have ever played. While playing as survivor I am on the ground before the killer can even M1. Once on the ground I then watch as the killer (who is very far behind me, far enough to have not been able to hit me) completes their M1. 50%~ of the time these M1's result in the attacked missed sound playing. While playing as killer I am pressing M1 on survivors who are in reasonable distance only to have them suddenly teleport behind me or to different locations entirely. These are just the worst of the bugs that were shipped with this patch. We are also experiencing the loss of vital information such as med kit, tool box and struggle progress since those are not being displayed correctly. Killers and survivors are also being teleported to the wrong sides of palettes constantly resulting in unfair gameplay that is no fault of any of the players. There are many more bugs but those are just the ones I am most shocked to be experiencing.

    3) The changes to the HUD are horrible. I don't know how else to put it. Even from a graphic design stand point it is very harsh on the eyes. Our focus is now being pulled into multiple directions of the screen at once (which is partly contributing to the motion sickness I have been experiencing). The previous HUD worked, and it worked well. With this new HUD it is hard to find key information, it is taking longer to process key information and it is distracting players from the most important aspect of the game, gameplay. Player portraits feel random, out of place and like the don't match the rest of the games graphic design elements. As someone who also streams this game for fun.. where am I even supposed to put my webcam in this mess? The entire new HUD looks like a poorly designed mobile game UI. I understand that the Dev's wanted to add new information to the HUD to make the game easier on solo players but there were far better ways to do this. Community members have created far better mockup's such as the one below. There was absolutely no need for such a drastic change and in all honesty, it did nothing to improve the player experience whatsoever. This also isn't about 'learning to adjust'. This feedback was given during the PTB by the majority of the community and seeing it still being shipped to live is incredibly disheartening.

It's saddening to see even major content creators for this game leaving negative feedback. When a gaming community is not listened to we look to them to help make positive changes but it seems like their thoughts/feedback are also being ignored. I know Fog Whisper's are doing their best not to speak ill of this patch and the Dev team but you can see them clearly struggle. They are at a loss for words at the most part and you can even see that they are choosing to play different games instead. As a huge fan of this game it is scary to see. Content creators are the reason most games remain relevant. We as community don't want to see this game fail as a result of your refusal to take our feedback into consideration.

Also, new maps are too bright. Not really a priority compared to the other things I have discussed here but worth mentioning.

Please take our feedback seriously this time, please listen to your community and PLEASE be transparent about what happened and what will be done to fix this. And in the future, please use the PTB for its actual intention.
