Slug whenever you get the opportunity.
try to make them do things more ineffeciently by making survivors who are far from the hook go for the save (chase people who are closer to the hook)
Try to eliminate one survivor as fast as possible. One being out of the game for good really slows gen progress.
Understand that without slowdown directly protecting generators is often impossible and the only way to slow down repairs really is to stop them from repairing in the first place. Sometimes if a generator is far out of your way, it's best to let them have it so you don't lose generators that are more easily protected.
Your time is very important, survivors will be trrying to end the game as quickly as possible, never over commit to one survivor. Try to get something out of a survivor every 15 seconds and if you can't you need to leave them (whether that be a hit, a pallet drop, ect.)
Don't expect kicking generators to actually slow the survivors attempts to repair. Once upon a time, generators could not even be kicked, and kicking gens was only added as a way for the killer to potentially counter a 99d gen. Kicking a gen will only help if no survivor is nearby and able to continue repairs or stop regression and really only serves to get rid of progress on generators that survivors have abandoned completely.
Don't allow yourself to be juggled protecting a generator. Sometimes survivors will bounce you back and forth on a generator. Sometimes you just have to commit, but remember the 15 seconds rule. Get a pallet or a hit then switch targets, if you can't do that you shouldn't be chasing that survivor in the first place.
Thank you for your answer! I could try this, I hope this will help me in the future.

Seems hard to quantify. I'd be interested to hear exactly how the game would classify "moving towards" something. What if the killer was already moving that direction? What if they're looking away while moving towards it, or vice versa? How much margin of error is there for "moving towards" something?
maybe they could just add a range/radius of the pebble where it triggered. I know there could happen the same stuff like you mentiond, but this could be a much simpler solution.

I think the current sound is fine. You can still hear the sparks quite clearly. Previous one sounded like starting a car and the car refusing to start.
I know, this is why I said they should put in a new sound, so it is less annoying.
Keep in mind this feature came out of nowhere, so BHVR didnt really put much effort into this. This can be done much much better.
Oh, btw for the current sounds, imo they are too quiet. This is why i came up with this idea

After reading many reasons to leave the basement, id say my reason to stay:
The reason I play killer is to be feel the power and control over the match (and for the bloodpoints as well)
But if there is an situation where you can use it to your advantage, id do it, because:
- Suvivors have to learn of their mistakes. If they got hit hard, they will remember it and learn how to avoid this next time. Do a different strategy or just do gens if its not possible to save a person of the basemement without the high risk of getting caught in action. I know this game is about risk as well, but sometimes you have to sacrafice something to still gain a bigger chance of success (be it higher bloodpoints/score or even an escape)
- I learned that showing mercy to survivors can be punishing in the late game, if something happens you didnt expect to happen. Your job as the killer is to get as many kills as possible (or just do it for the points if you dont care). But if you think mercy is the better choice, you have to remind yourself that the survivors wont see you as a real threat anymore, and attempt more stuff or even start to bully you, because they wanna do a payback for you even getting 2 people to the basement.
- If you gain high pressure and keep it, the survivors will respect you as a killer and will get too scared to attempt something, because they wanna survive as long as possible. Sure, there are many experienced players out there which care more about the survival of others than themselves, but if you do it right, you can beat those people again, and win really quick
Most of the people think its boring, which is normal, but for me its not, because there are still people which play killer just to have control over the game.
For example camping leatherface at the start of the match. They do it for the feeling of power, if they catch an really toxic survivor, or just wanna show the teammates that he can have control over the match. (Yeah there are really people out there who do that, I asked those people)
So yeah, like I said, this is my reason why I would stay at the basement.

Its your decision if you leave the basement or not.
It depends, if you wanna secure a win and stay, or you leave, risk your high pressure and maybe get more points after the game.
The thing you have to remind yourself is, you wont see those people again. Maybe if you immediately search for the next game, but there are around +30000 people playing this game every day. Survivors will forget who they went up against and wont care if you played like an ass or not. They may be tilted to you, but wont do something like hunt down your adress or something.
This is a Videogame, where you can decide what you wanna do, be it playing Spirit with stridor or Infinity Tombstone Myers.
The reason why you play this game is to have a fun time. So dont be afraid to ruin the fun of others, just dont care and do whats right for you.
Im still upset that people still think you have to follow the "rulebook of dbd", because they expect you to have limited options.
Shorted: just ######### on it, dont feel bad for playing like a dick. You paid for the full DBD experience, so you gotta use the full DBD experience!

To be honest, i dont know why everybody is thinking, it would be a good idea to use the mori if the surivor is on 2nd hook. It would be a massive waste of time killing someone while everyone else can do something without worrying about being interrupted.
