Freddy is more powerful than Pig and Clown, he is great fun and he has a bit of variety compared to other killers with the teleporting and dream pallet/snare options.
Also his Blood Warden perk can be fun.
I'd recommend buying him unless you are only interested in red rank 4Ks.
He's way more fun to play as and against than he used to be. People highly undervalue the Snares, it's like clown's bottle but better since you can pre-plan. The fact that survivor's can't see you until a certain range allows you to get stuff done without them being able to notice what you're about to do. There is also a lot of mind-game potential with the teleport, both in and out of chase.
