How matchmaking works

I thought of a good analogy for how matchmaking works compared to how to used to work. Hopefully this will either make people less angry at why queues take so long for killer or at the very least help them understand why.

queuing used to work like if you sat down to eat and the waiter would come to take your order. Basically you would get into a lobby as killer which represents a table. The waiter taking your order represents survivors joining your lobby. But people at high ranks would have longer queue times because the matchmaking would pair people that were the closest to the killers rank. If the killer was rank 1 it would only pair other red ranks with them but there just weren’t any or if there were they were SWF which the system would take the average of the SWF ranks and choose that rank which was almost never rank 1.

this new system is like if you went to sit down at a table but the waiter gives you a buzzer thingy that’s on a timer. This system makes sure the matchmaker gives lobbies survivor in a timely fashion by limiting how many lobbies it needs to fill. This lowers red rank queue times but raised all other rank queue times. For killer at least, and that’s just a theory of how I think it works. *a game theory*
