Whats the point of the PTB?

I dont understand... what is the point of the ptb when next to nothing of the community feedback changed anything? I mean i knew that some, if not most of what was put in the ptb would stay the same maybe with slight variations, but still the entire community roared that we didn't like the pig changes, the legion changes where to rough, remember me, was also unnecessary to throw in the trash. Left behind rework is completely useless with the hatch changes. The plague needed buffs or QoL but got nothing except a scoring event.

The only thing we got was the reversal of the pig's RBT's not ticking down in the terror radius, but come on! This would be changed back without our feedback because the timer could still be cheesed by crouching...

This patch has a some good things in it like the EGC but the rest of it is horrible, im sorry i love this game to death and usually don't freak out to much when the devs do things i don't like. because they usually balance it out with good stuff, but not this time. Many of my favorite builds/playstyle have been permanently eliminated from the game and my second most favorite killer is now my least favorite killer (the pig).

Please make this right and look into some of this stuff and don't wait 2 years before touching any of these things again.

The PTB isn't for community feedback, it's to test the changes and find bugs in them before going live. Not that this really works either. They play lip service to community feedback but generally respond with any sort of actual feedback with "we've done our own play testing and...blah blah blah".

Then whats the point of them telling us to give our feedback? Most of these changes are pretty bad, and even though I hate Legion, he is basically a Freddy at this point.

I guess it is. I used to feel behaviur was one of the best companies out there. And would always listen to what their community wanted, but since the store was implemented i feel they have gone from making the game the best it can be. To just trying to make as much money as possible not caring for what is good for the game or not. Im not saying i don't like the store, but the decisions lately have been very... Corporate.

  • The egc being implemented meant some things needed balanced to not guarantee easy kills and make things overly strong.

The pig change yes is a major nerf but unfortunately it was also needed, they did kill her mechanic at end game with the egc so hopefully they can buff her in other ways to make her stronger and give her more pressure.

It's time to give feedback on what may help brinb her back into a good place, like faster crouch speed, make her more hidden, lower her terror radius, longer ambush lunge etc let's float some ideas around instead of dwelling on what has happened.

They where presented with a simple fix that would make everyone happy. Pause the EGC timer when there are active RBT's. There problem solved, but instead they remove the ONLY strong thing about the pig, denying survivors to leave the match, the rest of her kit is a worse wraith (Ambush attack), a worse freddy (Slow down with traps). When big changes like this is done they need to balance it out immediatly, imagine if they cut gen repair speed in half but didn't do anything to extend the game, its basically that, but for one killer.

That may still happen but with what needed fixed who knows they possibly didn't have time to implement it.

I myself posted that was a great idea as it keeps her power at end game.

I think another issue was it would probably need time added as if it paused at 25 seconds then to get the trap off and get out would be nigh impossible unless the box was next to a gate, just about pausing woukdnt solve the reason for the change as you can see.

Pausing and adding time I would say takes a lot more testing and I think a ptb would be needed for it.

Keep the suggestions coming as good ones they do listen too and take into consideration.

  • Player. Test. Build.

To let players, test the upcoming builds.

  • I dont understand... what is the point of the ptb when next to nothing of the community feedback changed anything?

They collect info about everything during the ptb, then they decide to launch the path or make some changes

  • They fixed tons of bugs that were introduced due to the PTB. Sometimes they make changes or revert their changes which is good, but that won't always be the case.
