Just a bit of transparency goes a long way

Considering the way you guys have been conducting your jobs, I don't think any of you really know how to CM, or at least how to handle a situation where a playerbase is frustrated by a lack of development information.

Show the players the failures.

I know you can't discuss things that are currently being developed, that causes a whole headache with players getting their hearts set and let down when the idea gets scrapped, like the minor backlash from thana buff falling through.

But it's important to show an effort is being made at all. *Any effort* that shows the devs are doing more than flicking pencils at the ceiling while we're all waiting for a broken game to be finished.

Get the oks you need to and show us the failures. Show us the ideas that *were* scrapped, the ones that didn't make it and the devs moved on from them.

We won't get hung up on them, but the gesture will still show that we can at least trust you in that you'll do you basic job responsibility of communicating literally anything of value at all to us, and it will let you know as players get a head for what problems the devs are trying to approach and how they are trying to approach them, and why they thought their answers needed to be revised.

Show the failures so the devs look like more than a bunch of lazy, spitbubble blowing dip[badword]s because that's all they look like right now. Show they've actually been working on *something* for the past 12 months and haven't just been jacking off like it *looks like*

  • There are community managers replying to most of the threads taking feedback and giving it to the higher in command. What more do you want? There is not more a community manager can do but report back to the people above them.

You may want to read the OP.

More than one person is leaving the game in frustration because it doesn't look like the devs are even working on QoL changes anymore. When was the last time you heard about the hatch getting addressed?

"Late game is getting fixed real soon!" Yeah, that was a gem a few months ago.

Rather than leave empty bull[badword] comments like that that both communicate nothing and upset players when they don't happen, it is much more effective to get the ok and show what the devs have been trying to do, why it has failed and they're still working on it, because then we at least know they *are* working on it at all.

The CM job isn't just to pass information to a higher up. It's to manage the [badword]ing community.
