Colgate's farming observations for survivors

1.      Rate of bloodpoint generation decreases over time

a.      The window when a survivor can generate the most amount of bloodpoints is at the beginning of the match. This is because there are plenty of generators and totems to do

b.     As the match progresses on, survivors spend more time searching for generators, hiding from patrolling killers, getting chased etc. All of these do not generate bloodpoints very quickly

c.      The effective strategy for survivors is to exit the match within the first 5 minutes, either by dying or by escaping

d.     While there is a bonus spike of 5,000 bloodpoints for escaping, it is generally not time efficient to do so - it is more efficient to die and start a new match unless the survivor can escape within 5 minutes of the match

 .

.

2.      Co-op generators are the fastest at generating bloodpoints

a.      More so with the perk “Prove Thyself”

b.     A generator is not time-efficient unless it is a co-op repair

c.      The quickest time a survivor can find a generator is at the beginning of the match

d.     It is usually better for a survivor to actively look for co-op generators and avoid doing a solo repair

e.     While searching for co-op generators, survivors should do totems they pass by as they generate decent amounts of bloodpoints per second

 .

.

3.      Actions that generate 5,000 bloodpoints per minute is a good benchmark to peg actions to

a.      Searching for and doing co-op repair on a generator with “Prove Theyself” generates roughly 5,000 bloodpoints per minute

b.     For survivors looking to generate bloodpoints efficiently, they should consistently ask themselves if what they are doing measures up to this “recommended” rate

         i.     If the answer is “no”, it is more time-efficient to look to exit the match as quickly as possible and “lock in” those bloodpoints

 .

.

4.      Objective bloodpoint should be maxed out within 2 to 2.5 minutes

a.      This includes time spent searching for a co-op generator

 .

.

5.      Recommended match duration is approximately 5 minutes

a.      Objective bloodpoint should be maxed out within 2.5 minutes. Bloodpoint generation rate decreases drastically after this point

b.     Best case is to escape within 5 minutes, otherwise exit by other means that still “lock in” those bloodpoints

 .

.

6.      The Perk “We’re Gonna Live Forever” can be a trap

a.      The Perk “We’re Gonna Live Forever” can help increase the overall bloodpoint generation but it is not time-efficient to try to max out 4 stacks of it, especially if a survivor is generating 0 bloodpoint between stacks

b.     If it takes more than 2.5 minutes to get 4 stacks of “We’re Gonna Live Forever”, it is actually better to exit and start a new match to generate bloodpoints from co-op generator repairs

 .

.

7.      It is almost always time-efficient to suicide on hook

a.      Unless the survivor can escape through the hatch or exit gate right away, it is an incredibly big waste of time to continue the match after being hooked

 .

.

8.      Healing, Mending and Curing (fountain from Plague) are time traps

a.      Healing and mending are some of the worst actions a survivor can do with regards to bloodpoint generation. The bloodpoint per second is so low that only 0 bloodpoint actions such as idling, hiding or moving near nothing do worse for bloodpoint generation

b.     Since the best window for bloodpoint generation is at the beginning of the match, it is usually in the interest of the survivor to exit the match without dragging on. Healing, Mending and Curing only work to waste time that could be spent generating bloodpoints in a fresh match
