When making a licensed chapter
Do the devs watch the movies? They normally get some perks screen accurate and even most of the powers are pretty accurate. Myers is the best with Pig being the second most film accurate. I'd say Freddy is kinda accurate but he doesn't put people to sleep in the remake, he waits for you to fall asleep before making his move. Leatherface was just self-explanatory though.
