Why the new matchmaking is bad
The new timer before the match is the real problem.
The way our brain works, how human behavior works is the following:
You wait until the timer goes down. Your brain anticipate a reward.
No reward=frustration=aggression/depression
After 5min plus waiting our brain wants a reward and getting to wait in another lobby simply is not.
If we would enter the lobby directly and the estimate time is 5+. Our brain can accept that. It sees, something has happen and now we wait for survivors to enter the match.
Waiting only to get access to an empty lobby feels like an arbitrary punishment.
