Please grant Kwon Tae-young a peaceful ending
Among all the characters in Dead by Daylight, Kwon Tae-young is a gentle, pure-hearted ordinary person with a very regrettable fate. Unlike many characters who carry past obsessions or step into conflicts voluntarily, he never approaches darkness on his own, never commits mistakes, and never involves himself in any disputes. He is just a young man with an ordinary life who treasures his family and lover. Yet without any warning and without any fault of his own, he was unexpectedly pulled into the Entity’s endless trials, forced to endure fear and suffering that he never deserves.
To me, Kwon Tae-young has always been an important source of spiritual strength. During many low, confused, and difficult periods in my life, this character’s personality and experience have helped me calm down and grow gradually. I have seen precious softness and perseverance from him. Even after staying in a dangerous, oppressive, and unpredictable environment for a long time, he still maintains peace in his heart. He never holds resentment, nor does he allow hardship to change his true nature. He always keeps his longing for real life, his care for his family, and his hope for a peaceful daily life.
His ability to believe in goodness even in adversity has supported me quietly for a long time. When I feel tired and want to give up, I will think of him striving to survive in endless cycles, still hoping to wake up one day. He teaches me to keep moving forward steadily, to adjust my mindset, and to stay gentle and firm under pressure. I have gained plenty of positive changes and growth from this character. He has accompanied me through many difficult times and has become a steady motivation for me to improve and become a better version of myself.
Kwon Tae-young has an incredibly pure and lovely inner world. At the start of each trial, facing unfamiliar oppressive scenes and sudden fear, he never resists violently nor sinks into negative emotions. Instead, he comforts and calms himself silently. He tells himself repeatedly that everything happening around him is only a temporary dream, that all the suffering will end soon, and that he will wake up and return to his peaceful life eventually.
This small detail of self-comfort and self-healing is deeply touching. Trapped in helpless endless cycles, he can only rely on self-hypnosis to hold on, and rely on his longing for reality to get through trial after trial. Faced with cold and dangerous surroundings, he still preserves gentle expectations and uses the softest way to support himself through every difficult moment. His tender and resilient personality is truly worthy of appreciation.
In his real life, he has an elder brother who misses him deeply and waits constantly for his return. He also has a sincere and loving girlfriend who stays by his side in ordinary days and waits for him to come back. In the peaceful real world, his loved ones endure long endless waiting every day, hoping for his safe return. For his family and lover, the separation is a long and uncertain suffering. For Tae-young himself, being unable to go home and meet the people he cherishes is the biggest regret hidden in his long trials.
From beginning to end, he is an innocent victim drawn into all misfortune passively. He has no past sins, no extreme obsessions, and no desire for darkness. He is merely an unfortunate prey of the Entity, confined in endless cycles of death, forced to experience fear, struggle, and separation repeatedly. All the pain he endures is unprovoked and unfair.
I deeply respect the stories and experiences of every character in Dead by Daylight. I understand that every role in this game carries unique suffering and regret. I do not intend to compare or belittle any other character’s fate. I only sincerely hope that this kind, pure, and innocent young man who always holds warmth in his heart can have a chance to be treated gently by fate.
I sincerely and humbly ask the official team to consider giving Kwon Tae-young a proper and peaceful ending. Please let his long-lasting trials come to an end, let him wake up from this endless nightmare, allow him to return safely to the real world and reunite with his brother and girlfriend. Please let him finish his long suffering and wandering, and finally receive a peaceful, warm, and fulfilling ending without regret.
