How do you vault back into ghoul without being hit?

Was playing some solo q survivor and had one teammate who consistently vaulted back into ghoul after getting grabbed at a pallet and would not get hit. I thought ghoul had an ability like Wesker were you would get hit if you tried that. I'd like to know so I can use this against the next ghoul I face.
