While ready for a match as Killer, join the Survivor queue through the join mechanic and play as Survivor in 2v8. Disconnecting from the match will remove your ready up state as Killer and reset your queue place.

Xbox Series S

While ready for a match as Killer, join the Survivor queue through the join mechanic and play as Survivor in 2v8. Disconnecting from the match will remove your ready up state as Killer and reset your queue place. Not tested using abandon feature.

No logs, no video, easily replicated as it always happens from several instances.
