Do I need to open the game on steam for the DLC to be available on a link PS5 game?

So, my PC died about a month ago, so moved to PS5 to play DbD for now.

I have just enough in my Steam a wallet to grab the new DLC, though, so want to grab it there via the Steam app. I obviously can’t load up the game in steam after buying it, though, so I’m worried that I’ll buy the DLC and still won’t be able to play with the new characters on PS5.

Will just buying the DLC in the steam store be enough, or do I need to verify it or something by loading up the game?

    You actually need to start the game on the Plattform that you bought the new characters. The synch up happens once your at the main menu
