My head hurts

Let's play a game of DBD but on the side of a unplayable spectator. We see a decent killer who isn't getting downs easily and needs to strategize. By the time he downed a survivor, 1 gen has been done. He goes to hook and uses Pain Resonance, which slows down the gen with the most progress a bit. By the time he finds the gen, it pops. 3 gens remaining. What does the killer think he needs to do now? Tunnel one out. That's precisely what he does. The tunnelled person is of course quite angry and infuriated. That's why the survivor swears he will never not bring anti-tunnelling perks. And here we go in another game. The survivor has a toolbox and does the first gen untouched. As it happens, the others also have anti-tunnelling perks. This makes the killer bored and ultimately ends the game with 3 man escape. His plan now is to slug in the next game because of these anti-tunnel perks. Now the slugging part comes with Franks Demise and Knockout and it's not fun for anyone. The killer gets a 4K. The survivors bring anti-slugging perks. > Tunneling > Anti-tunneling > Slugging > Anti Slugging > Tunneling > > > > > > > >….

  • If you suggest we should buff weaker killers, you are right.

  • That's pretty much how it goes. When survivors decide to do gens and play to win the gens fly. Killer has no time to spread hooks so tunnels 1 out asap to be able to stand a chance. Failing that they slug because they can't tunnel and can't afford to waste time hooking and spreading hooks.

It's a race, disable the survivors before they finish the gens while survivors have to do gens before they are disabled.

Solution is either buff the killers to be able to kill faster without the use of tunneling or slugging or slow the gens down to allow killer time to get some kills without needing to slug or tunnel.
