Game pauses midmatch pause not pressed

I'm on ps4, I've been playing for several years but am experiencing a new issue I have not before. When I am in chase as survivor when I try to take action (like using a pallet or vault) when the killer is nearby me, the game will go into pause. I don't press the pause button. It's not the controller because it only happens in chase when the killer is upon me. Never any other time. It happens during most if not all my matches at present. Does anyone have info on this????
