Insanely dark fog covering Toba Landing basement

Walking down into the Toba Landing basement (shack, in this case) was incredibly dark, because of this weird layer of black fog. Even walking through it caused my vision to be almost completely obscured for several moments, much worse than any other lighting adjustment.

From inside the basement it was much clearer; no other basement seems to have this cover of darkness.
