A question (or probably a discussion) about licenses and their possibilities to appear in DBD.
I know for sure, that Behaviour first and foremost adding characters from Horror movies, (series and etc...) games, maybe books or comics...
But is there a possibility that not only a horror genge can be added?
In short: question like this - Can Venom from Spider-man actually be added as a killer and 1-2 survivors from the same franchise? Or any other characters from Marvel?
Or Voldemort from Harry Potter?
Or in DBD we can only have characters from Horror genge? This is something I really have troubles answering.
I know about Attack on Titan appearead (and dissapeared) once, but they were only a skins, not an actual characters.
I genuinely have no clue.

good luck getting marvel (specially spider-man) money
this game gives a cent to jk I'm never touching it again
They already got deal with Disney (Alien) , so maybe Marvel based skin collection or chapter can be possible as well. But Spider-Man franchise belongs to Sony and i highly doubt we will see Venom for that.
Well. They used to say only horror characters/content would make it in. Though frankly? Yeah pretty much anything is possible.
they said no Clowns will be added due to Coulrophobia being very common and then added the Clown anyway. Any they have gone against their word many times.
also we already got Nicolas Cage - not only is he not out of any horror medium but he is not even fictional. So yeah, anything goes, really, as long as BHVR wants it (meaning most probably: money)
Another Sony IP that could be used would be Twisted Metal... just saying
Also that anything is possible even though they don't like Chucky cause "it's goofy" (which is funny cause we have bunny suits, a K-Pop Killer and most of the gameplay is just running around in circles... Scooby-Doo comes to mind)
Anything can happen so long as the other side is agreeing to it. If BHVR wanted, we could a survivor team of Detective Frank Drebin (Naked Gun), Xander Harris (Buffy), Kim Possible (epon.), and Dr Frasier Crane (epon.) trying to survive first one trial against Finn Kelly (Neighbours), another against Scarecrow (Batman), and a final match against Randy Orton (WWE).
Obviously, not likely the above, but they have the ability to spread out as much as they wish, providing the license holder agrees. With the recent additions, I think they may be ready to stretch out beyond the typical horror bubble. We'll see, but the future looks good.
