Why are the games always harder on the last pip to the next level?

Matchmaking always puts me against a sweaty killer whenever I have three out of four pips and just need one more pip for the next survivor grade level. I know the skill-based matchmaking system is not transparent. It seems it puts me in harder matches on purpose when I am one pip away from the next level. It sure is a challenge. Lol!

    because you are winning you last few matches. so your mmr got some amount higher.


    but mostly, you are paying more attention to it. when you get a hard match but has no pips to lose, you just move on.
