Hook Camping Onis
Edited to remove rage.
I have played three matches in the last 45 minutes, and in each one, have been killed by an Oni that camped me on hook in demon mode. All three camped me on hook until their power ran out, and after I was saved twice, those two tunnelled me so one could mori me at 1 gen done (two dwights and a claudette as teammates) and the other could hook me to death at 3 done.
Any counters forthe oni rise?

Oni camping is the least of the game's problems. As a reminder, Oni is FORCED to EARN his power by injuring survivors (pro-tip: deny him of the first hit as long as possible. Drop every pallet. Don't let him hit you). And unlike Artist, Skull Merchant, etc, his power is on a LIMITED timer that you can WAIT OUT. It's not rocket science. Also, there's a nifty new perk from Rebecca that has become extremely meta that you can try and make use of.
Let's not make spur of the moment, angry venting posts without thinking it through. Oni is by far one of the most balanced killers this game has currently.
Lol.
I mean, I agree with tackling real problems but....this ain't it.
For people suggesting perks: DbD is not a counterpick game. *Especially* in the case of Reassurance against an Oni in their power. You're suggesting someone throw the game by trying to use that against a powered up Oni.
To OP: This one is mostly on your teammates and their game sense, unfortunately. They can force him out of his power with a locker grab while someone else saves. But that's a lot of resources to commit to a single hook state and it's unlikely that 4 solo queue players will even know that the play is a possibility, let alone be able to execute it.
There are things you can do yourself, but you're unlikely to see much benefit in solo queue. Delay the first hit as long as you can. Solo queue players never do this because streamers say long chase good player short chase bad player, but you can jump in a locker as soon as an Oni hits you the first time. This denies his blood orb gain from the remainder of that chase, and thus denies his power. But it puts you on the hook. The caveat here is that your teammates probably don't even know what game they're playing and will immediately give him his next hit. Good strategy in a 4 man SWF with 4 known good quantities. Iffy strat in solo queue
