The new meta might become a problem ?
Summary for people who don't want to read : killers and survivors get nerfed hard (no more 3-gen, no more dead hard, no more healing), I predict the best options after the patch for survivor become doing gens only (no heal no boon no nothing) and evading chases (stealth/running early) / killer options are camping and mass slugging (survivors will heal very less often, and evade chases when given the opportunity)
After reading the dev update (btw this won't be about if the changes are bad or good, personally im glad they're changing a bunch of stuff that helps the game feel fresh to me, bad or good, time will tell), I started thinking for a bit : What options killers and survivors will have after those changes ?
Survivors just had their best exhaustion perk significantly changed, a lot of people were using it to extend their changes as a big second chance, which made all the chases (including those chases were you wait for 6 seconds on someone who doesnt have dead hard by reflexe) a lot longer. So being chased, is now less efficient for a lot of survivors (at least until they unhook someone, but if there's 4 players running Dead Hard, it wont be possible to land a Dead Hard multiple times). Now, the other best option survivors had was healing ; but again, healing got severely nerfed, and the most meta things you could bring (Green medkit, CoH) are now very less powerful. So this might discourage players of healing, a lot.
Survivor's best options are now, by elimination, to evade chases (running early with maybe an exhaustion perk, and stealth) and to do gens (without thinking, just gens, no healing, no blessing totems, nothing), which can be a bit of a problem considering running early was already a huge part of the meta, and survivors will probably fill the gaps that were their Dead Hards and Boons with Overzealous, Resilience, or other exhaustion perks that might reveal themselves to be even more efficient (not in chase, but in finishing the match faster)
On the other hand, Killers got a lot of their gen regressing perks severely nerfed too, so all the 3-gen meta might become obsolete fast. While this is good because 45 minutes matches were ridiculous, this also means that's one less option killers are given. Since, like I predict on the previous paragraphes, Survivors too are given less options and will run away and stealth far faster and far more now, because chases are inefficient for them ; Killers chases will be harder to catch up and harder to start, so chasing will become inefficient for low tier Killers and players who struggle at chasing.
By elimination Killers will now shift even more towards tunneling/camping (can't Dead Hard if you never unhook !), and most likely : slugging. With healing nerfed, Survivors are gonna get discouraged with healing, if you can't unhook, you don't get your Dead Hard (Killers are very much willing to not hook to not get Dead Harded 10 times), and since chasing is now secondary because the pressure you will give is most likely not enough to stop 3 other survivors on gens with gen progression builds, this might become the new meta, slugging will become the most efficient way to stop survivors from doing gens, and since they'll stay injured far more often, the occasions to slug will actually appear a lot more.
I would say this can be a problem as slugging is very boring for survivors, and most players probably don't want to go back to the old adrenaline/unbreakable/exhaustion perk/prove (or whatever) meta from 3-4 years ago. And ironically enough, I think that would be okay if the slug update went live with that (of course with a lot of tweaks and changes, and buffing the snowball killers like Twins or Oni), but I guess we're never seeing it (and frankly, I'm sad all this work went to waste when the basis was good).
