Deadly Pursuit archive challenge not always counting

Killer: mostly played nemesis for the duration of the challenge
I'm referring to this in the latest page in the archives.
Eventually, I got it (obviously, by the screenshot) - but it took longer than it should have. It took 3 games.
The majority of my chases were NOT counting for it. For example, I chased this feng for a while, and after I downed her no progress counted. But the next chase I had with a kate, it counted.
I noticed it wasn't counting if I downed the survivor during the chase, and only worked if I dropped the chase. But that could have been placebo, tho.
