Does escaping in a snowman make your challenge progress not count?

I had 7/8 iridescent emblems completed, finished a trial in a snowman and received 2 iridescent emblems but was awarded no progress to my challenge. Just wanted to get this done so I can spend the next 20 trials attempting to repair 8 gens co-op but looks like it'll have to wait
