SoloQ issues that can be addressed now…
I’ve made a few observations recently in my matches and how they could have played out differently even with the tools that we have now that my teammates just aren’t utilising.
First prioritising gens seems to be the most difficult part but that’s definitely not the only issue with gens. Lately I’ve completely removed prove thyself from my build because when we spawn into a map, my teammates want to immediately stack on a gen instead of splitting up to split pressure. Allowing a killer to disrupt 2 or more players immediately when interrupted shifts the pressure on the survivors. Splitting gens to begin with is always the play to make, with prove thyself coming in handy when there’s two gens left.
Secondly, not looking at the HUD when someone is hooked. Sure we don’t always have the communication to deal with a lot but if I see the obsession is in chase, the Meg is on death hook and someone is hooked… I should be the one to go unhook while the Meg should stay on a gen out of the way. The hud can also let you know when your teammates have several hook states, and if you have none, you need to try and to get the killers attention and take chase.
Which lastly brings me to giving away free hits… for no reason. So you’re teammate is being tunnelled. That sucks. You’re teammate is also looping a decent amount of time between hooks to waste the killers time as much as possible. So if you keep taking hits, healing yourself and going for more hits…. Who is doing gens? When I’m being tunnelled, the hardest part for me is watching 2-3 teammates being there for hits and saves and not seeing those gens popping. This is why tunnelling works because no one is rushing gens to secure a 3 man out. That’s the counter to this play style.
What are some other tools survivors should be using that we have now?
