Question to devs and even those who are more experienced on engines like unreal (cheating related)

So pretty much every 3D game engine works with X Y Z positions, whenever a survivor move left, right, forward and backward your X and Z positions changes. Whenever a player moves up or down their Y positions changes.

If a player X Y Z position changes cconsistently by a HUGE chunk, shouldnt the game be able to detect it, mark it as suspiscious and kick that player out? How come someone can change their position by a drastic amount (teleporting/speed hacking) but the game is not able to detect it?

Now I suggest it only kick players and straigh up dont ban them for it as people could also hard lag etc and it only looks like they are teleporting...

  • Yeah, probably just how you said it. Sometimes lags can cause this and sometimes even map layout, gameplay mechanics like perks or even bugs/glitches can cause this as well. There are too many factors I guess.. and we all know how buggy DbD can be..
