Dead Hard Tome Challenge Rework?

So in Tome 2 part 1, there's a challenge called Dead Hardy where you need to avoid a basic attack using Dead Hard. In my last match, I took a hit and gained endurance. I performed a conspicuous action during it though. Could that have been the cause for not receiving a challenge completion? I don't know how the nerf affects tomes.
