DBD isn't Perfect But its Fine, Red-Pill about 6.1.0 (Players are the issue, not the game)

So I know there's hundreds of people projecting their ridiculous doomsday predictions and threatening to quit the game for 4 weeks until they see a new cosmetic/update announcement they like but there's a bitter pill people complaining need to swallow at one point or another. This may get extremely lengthy so I'm warning folks now, if you're going to get offended fast or just don't want to spend the time reading multiple paragraphs of my novel then please just leave now. I really don't feel like arguing with anybody that will nitpick one early sentence and ignore everything else just so they can take my stance out of context and try to have a "gotcha". I'm not above criticism and don't think I'm a perfect player but I know for a fact I have a better understanding than a lot of the biased people you find here on the forums and on Discord or Facebook. If you do have an issue with some points I make, feel free to let me know. I challenge those to point out something I'm missing or that I'm being unfair about. Here's some logical points about the update that are going to trigger the people that are emotionally biased towards only one aspect of the game or that have egos larger than their respect for the game:

1) Good Survivors were already good in spite of the formerly-stale meta and general inconveniences of the game in SoloQ or SWF. Good Killers were already good in spite of fighting an uphill battle against mechanics, map/tile design, efficient Solos/SWFs yet both groups will still continue to be good while making adjustments in between games to master their craft

2) Boosted players on both sides that were carried by favorable perks and a lack of QoL adjustments are finally going to get exposed for what they really are now and there's nothing they can do about it except get better or quit the game since its no longer inflating their performance and giving them extra wins that had more to do with cookie-cutter gameplay than their individual skill. Players need to stop doomsday posting and quit the game at this point if they really think disconnecting every match against Nurse or because their favorite perk isn't as abusable anymore will "teach" BHVR. The only thing its going to show them is that wishy-washy casual players shouldn't be catered to as much if this is how they're going to act whenever something doesn't go 100% entirely in their favor. Being frustrated is okay, but lets call it like it is: There's a lot of Survivors out here complaining right now that don't play both sides of the game having the nerve to throw a tantrum and talking about who deserves what when they have never had to endure previous imbalances in the game that were ACTUALLY broken in the past for both sides!

3) People should be giving BHVR credit for being unafraid to ruffle feathers of EVERYBODY by disturbing the meta 2nd chance perks AND slowdown perks, not just one side or the other. Both sides received buffs and nerfs, take it or leave it but please stop projecting your negativity onto the update and claiming it as a bad patch just because it slightly amplifies already existing problems. I have been upset at BHVR in the past for a lot of their design/balance choices but I'm currently enjoying both Survivor & Killer post-update and there's thousands doing the same. They get my credit for this one and I respect them for making the decision to attempt to stop the bleeding the game has had regardless of who winds up pissed off afterwards. Hopefully in time the other glaring issues will be addressed so that each role doesn't feel gimped in comparison to the others. The game needs more work and nobody logical will argue that. This is nowhere near a "broken" patch though, people are just realizing that they aren't as good as they thought

4) SoloQ has historically been outdated with a lack of information icons or a pseudo-ping system, SWF has historically been powerful when skilled players team up and synergize, Killers have historically been able to snowball easier against Solos while struggling more with coordinated SWFs. This patch did not make these problems out of nowhere. Balance should maybe be more focused on mid-high level players while leaving breathing room for the people at the entry level because when you cater mechanics to the entry level things too often things become lopsided once people grow past those training wheels. If you balance the game for medium-high levels instead you leave room for new players to adapt and raising their skill-cap without disturbing the balance of the game afterwards. As for Killers being able to punish mistakes more often now, they're literally the Killer and should be intimidating not laughed at and provoked like most of the roster has been.

5) Claiming that the first patch in a long time screws casual players isn't really relevant, they're casual players regardless of what the game's balance looks like. When you cater to those casual players the most then the game will always suffer because even if you spoon-feed them in multiple aspects they will still most likely barely spend $ on DBD and will still drop DBD for other games when its convenient for them. If they're easily swayed or quick to abandon DBD even when the game has historically laid the red carpet out for them then why not dedicate more effort making patches like this that incorporates feedback from actual veterans that invest a lot of time and $ into the game they have a passion for? They're going to come in and out regardless meanwhile veterans are harder to retain or win back over once they decide to move on

For Survivors, how many times have you lost a game to a Killer you're objectively better than because your SoloQ teammates are putting 0 pressure on gens and also over-stealthing which forces you to get tunneled, then this lead to your MMR being lowered and getting trapped with even more bad teammates in the future? How many times have you felt like taking a break because your teammates are sandbagging you but yet you'll be the one punished further if you decide to DC to avoid further griefing? How many times have you died to a Killer running the most cookie-cutter slowdown build possible while you brought a random meme build to spice up your gameplay and then had to watch them shaking their head at you in favorable scenarios and slicing you on the hook as if you didn't still outplay them several times (Meanwhile they only brought slowdown because of their last lobby)? How many times have you got bored in your SWF because your squad and the Killers are perpetuating an endless cycle of meta stacking that leads to predictable plays/outcomes? How many times have you said or heard other Survivors say they wish certain perks were basekit to allow you to use other builds? How many times have you laughed at a Killer's completely valid post and told them to get good even though some of you don't play Killer at all?

For Killers, how many times have you lost 2 gens within your first chase even when you end it fast with outplays because half of the maps were too big for most M1 characters to apply pressure since they have low mobility? How many times have you had gens slammed on you by mediocre/newer players that you dominate when they actually have to take a chase because 3 people are able to spawn right next to 3 different gens and you can only pressure 1-2 max at a time unless they constantly make mistakes or unless you played on a high tier Killer? How many times have you been harassed in endgame chat on Steam or Xbox/PSN messages by low-experience players for either simply existing, capitalizing on their mistakes and playing fairly or for losing a match to players you're most likely better than on an individual level simply because they're being boosted by meta-stacking SWFs with Discord? How many times have you gotten a ggez and taunting throughout the match from somebody that only ever runs 4 2nd chance perks while you're using a low-mid tier character with a mediocre build without using the strongest addons? The players that just camp or pre-drop extremely-safe pallets, hold M1 for most of the game while avoiding aggro at all costs, sacrificing their teammates for a worthless hatch or being the lone escape at the exit gates...How many times have you been harsh on Survivor feedback knowing damn well even though some of them are legit bad and projecting/making excuses that you can't relate to the valid feedback either because some of you also only play one side?

5) BREAKING NEWS!!! Besides these all being valid points and the daily reality for a lot of players, it has always been a thing. This update didn't magically create these problems, they only amplify what was already happening which makes it way easier for BHVR to make future changes in the right direction (Like this update has done with the exception of SoloQ being unaddressed in certain aspects)
