[Chapter Concept] Devs are allowed to use ideas here
So I've been working on killer concepts for over a year. I've made killer concepts that were very close to some of the killers we have today. I'm also getting my degree in game design, so I know a thing or two about what makes a game fun for everyone. But enough about me. If any devs are reading this, then I am open to any of your criticism or taking any of this ideas to the team. Anyway, feel free to skip any of the lore.
The Warden
“ I saw a violent cruel beast today. His physique looked strong for a man his age but I guess that just says more about the entity’s power. I was walking through the woods when I saw an eye peering out of a wall. Theses eyes oversee any actions that happen in front of them. I have to be keen of my surroundings. Checking every corner of every wall. ”
Lore: People describe Jackson as one of the strictest and cruelest people alive. Warden Garret Jackson was not one to make life easy for his inmates. Every day he would personally watch the prison security cameras to see if any one misbehaved. Those who misbehaved were punished by the warden. Sometimes, if a prisoner talked back to him, he would throw them into solitary without any food until they were twice as skinny as when they went in. Other times he would personally bring prisoners to his office and beat them with his barb wired security baton, leaving most of them crippled. The Federal Bureau of Prisons didn’t care what Jackson did because he was able to control some of the most dangerous criminals for cheap money. So, they let him do what he wanted with no consequences. One day, a cop went undercover in Jackson’s prison to bust a drug ring that extended outside of the prison. Watching the cameras, Jackson watched the unknown officer make some suspicious actions and called him into his office. Jackson questioned the prisoner what he was doing. When he didn’t answer him, Jackson broke both of his knee caps. The officer then reveled his identity as an undercover cop and this made Jackson more furious. Jackson threw the officer into solitary confinement for punishment for not telling him early. Also, to make sure that no one finds out about his extreme tactics. A day later, police came to the prison questioning about their missing undercover officer. Jackson confessed that he had thrown him into solitary for not coming forth sooner. Word of Jackson’s misconduct reached the police captain’s ears. The captain forced the F.B.P to fire Jackson and later police had a warrant out for Jackson’s arrest for assaulting an officer and violating many federal rules. Jackson then grew into a dark rage. He thought, No one could control prisoners like he could. Everyone just didn’t see that extreme tactics get the job. Stewing with anger, Jackson thought of one last thing he should do as warden. At 1am at the prison, before Jackson’s arrest, he wanted to vent his rage and punish all the inmates. Jackson locked all the prison guards who were patrolling that night in the security booth, so they couldn’t stop him. Jackson then would hang and beat prisoners to death. Some he would let kill each other for the promise of a reduced sentence. Others he would force into the electric chair, shocking them until they were burnt beyond recognition. All the prisoners were either double cuffed or restrained so they couldn’t fight back against Jackson. Over 50 prisoners were killed that night. Guards were able to call police and tell what Jackson had done. When police arrived at the scene, they witnessed the horror of bodies hung over the railings, prisoners bludgeoned to death and leftover guards who tried to stop Jackson tortured. Police searched for Jackson to arrest him, but he disappeared. Not a trace of him left. But people knew that where ever Jackson was, he was punishing more people who didn’t deserve it.
Perks:
• Order
o Unlocks potential one’s aura reading abilities. Survivor’s auras are reveled to you when they’re opening an exit gate within a 24 / 32 / 40 meter radius. If an exit gate’s progress is above 50%, its aura will be reveled yellow.
“I will have ORDER!” – The Warden
• Gallows Drop
o Entering the basement becomes more treacherous. Survivors receive blindness and exhaustion while in the basement and for an extra 10 / 20 / 30 seconds once they leave. Survivors also receive a slight / moderate / considerate luck penalty while in the basement.
• Warden’s Leash
o A deep bond with the entity allows you punish those who try to escape you. Whenever a survivor is rescued from a hook or free themselves outside of your terror radius, their aura is reveled to you for 3 / 4 / 5 seconds once they perform any repair, healing or sabotaging actions. This affects them only one time when they are unhooked.
“You may have escaped the entity’s grasp. But not out of his.”
Ability:
Watchmen’s Trap – Even in a world like this, Jackson keeps an eye out for his prey.
This trap is a camera place-able trap that revels survivor’s auras. It is an eye ball that you place on the wall.
You start with 4 total traps.
The traps have a cone radius. The cone radius does not extend through walls. The cone extends up to 8 meters.
You cannot put this trap on trees, on the exit gate or anywhere 16 meters near a hooked survivor. If you hook a survivor near a trap, the trap doesn’t work until the survivor is unhooked.
When survivors walk in front of your trap’s cone radius:
• Survivors have their aura reveled to you for as long as they’re in the cone’s radius.
• The trap doesn’t make any sound, but the eyeball opens. There is no notification to notify you.
Survivor perks that try to disable your ability to read their auras are trumped by this trap.
Survivors can’t disable your traps.
These traps can be removed to be put back into your inventory to set up somewhere else.
Takes 3 seconds to arm and remove.

Eric Castle
Lore: Eric grew up with a tough life. His parents divorced when he was still a kid and grew up not knowing his father. Eric’s mom saw too much of his father in him, so she would abuse him growing up. Life got better for Eric once he met Britany. They grew up doing everything together. Going to school, riding bikes and even giving each other haircuts. Once Eric was 18, Eric tried to run away with Britany. Telling her how he would take her to a better life. But she refused and asked him not to run away. Eric was reluctant but stayed. On the night Eric and Britany graduated from high school, he received the worst news of his life. Britany had gotten an acceptance letter from a college far away from the college that Eric had been accepted to. Eric not wanting to hold Britany back let her go. Eric kept in touch with Britany, but it wasn’t the same. Eric eventually stopped talking to Britany. Eric then had to deal with the pressures of college on his own. Losing his ability to cope, Eric reverted to drinking. He’d hit bar after bar, trying to find a new happiness. One day, when one of the waitresses at a bar took him to the back room, he realized what he was missing. Eric then drove to Britany’s college. Not worrying about school anymore. Nervous of his decision he decided to watch Britany’s house from a distance trying to work up his nerves. What he saw that night shocked him to his core. He saw as Britany kissed another man. Devastated, Eric knocked on Britany’s door, telling her how he loved her. But instead of receiving love, received rejection. Eric became even more devasted and ran away. Eric was grief struck and alone. But instead of giving up, managed to pick himself up. Eric spent majority of his days alone which he preferred. To get his mind off his past, he decided to go traveling. Selling everything he owned, he set off to explore. He saw great sights and met nice people. Interested in the paranormal, Eric wanted to see more haunted places. As Eric was leaving a haunted ironwork factory, he bumped into a man. The man curious in Eric asked him what he was doing here. Eric told the man about his fascination with haunted buildings. The man suggested he visit a haunted prison that people don’t usually go to. Eric thanked the man and went to his new destination. Eric stared at the abandoned prison in disbelief, wondering what made this prison haunted. Stepping into the prison, he felt a chill run down his spine. Feeling as if someone was watching him, Eric turned around and found himself in a much darker, sinister place.
Perks:
• Lone Wolf
o Sometimes, you don’t need others. When there are no allies within 8 meters of you, you receive a 3% / 5% / 7% repair, healing, sabotaging, exit gate opening, and searching speed increase. Great skill checks also give you 1% / 2% / 3% extra progress.
“Some things are better done alone.” – Eric Castle
• Cheer
o You encourage your team, even in rough times. Allies within 8 meters receive 10% / 15% / 20% larger skill checks while preforming repair, healing and sabotaging actions. Injured allies receive double this effect. Once out of range, this effect persists for 15 seconds.
• Grit
o You become resilient to death. While in a healthy state, if a hit were to instantly send you to the dying state, your instead sent into a 40 / 45 / 50 second bleed out timer. If you take any damage during the bleed-out timer or if the bleed-out timer ends, you’ll be put into the Dying State. This effect can only happen once per trial.
“I’m not done yet!”
Summary:
Now before most of you go down and type the flaws of each character, let me explain. First off with the warden. I've always wanted to play on a prison map so admittedly that's why I made the warden. Now his perks are agreeably mid tier. Order is situational because it's a late game perk, but the problem most of us make at the end is wondering if survivors are doing an exit gate switch. Making it a 50/50 chance of going to the right one. Unless you know which one they're going to. Gallows drop was actually originally a monstrous shrine rework idea I had. This perk punishes basement raiders. Any one who wants a free item will have to pay the price. Warden's Leash was a tricky idea. Originally it revel the survivors aura after being unhooked. But that felt too tunnel based. So I made it so when they start preforming an action, they can be seen. Now for Warden's ability.
The Warden's ability is mainly a scout ability. It allows you to see survivors that are trying to go into a certain area and if they're going towards your totem. Plus the fact that the are reveled for as along as their in your trap, makes survivors repairing in front of your traps free food. I wasn't able to get his add-ons onto this list so I'll try to work that in another day. His ability doesn't make him great I will admit. But, there aren't many killers that can see survivors auras without add-ons, perks or them knowing your nearby. Freddy is really the only one that can see your auras but as most of us know, he isn't that great. Now on to the survivor.
I'm not used to making survivor concept but worked on this one for a while. Overall let's mainly talk about his perks. Lone wolf is a perk mainly for solo players. Since you can only get the benefit with no one nearby, perks like Leader can't stack onto your ability making it too strong. Cheer is a perk mainly for beginner survivors. Survivors playing in the beginning of DBD have a rough time doing skill checks. This perk helps them out. If you know your teammates are new or your afraid hat they might fail skill checks, then this perk is a solution. Grit is my favorite idea of all these perks. This perks counters a lot of killers. As a killer main it would surprise for the first hit. But if your a good killer you can simply just hit them again. This perk is a good counter to Hillbilly, Myers and Cannibal. Huntress too if she were running Iridescent head. But not an extreme counter.
That's about it. If you have any questions or suggestions, let me know below. To the devs at DBD, don't be afraid to talk any of these ideas over with the team and work something different off of them. Like all the killers and cosmetics you guys have put out so far.
