They make it so the unhooked survivor can't just phase through the survivor who unhooked them to take a hit for them. I think this was the biggest issue with BT, I could go directly towards the unhooker and swing at them, but because the unhooked survivor has no hitbox collision for that split second they're unnhooked, they can walk through each other and the survivor with BT active can take the hit.
