Why does cross-play work like this?
So I've tested this thoroughly and have talked to other Xbox players.
If you are on the Xbox Series X or S you can only queue up with other Xbox Series players with cross-play (for reference this whole discussion is with cross-play off) the only way I know you can get around this where you can only play with other Xbox Series players is if the host is not a Xbox Series player aka Xbox One.
To clarify if you host as a Xbox Series player with 3 Xbox one friends you will get a Xbox Series player. but if a Xbox One player hosts and 3 people are on the series you would get a Xbox Series killer. why don't the queues just mix together to help with queues in general. as a Xbox Series player it is rare or next to impossible to find a match, so I'm forced to play with cross-play off, and a part of dbd I like is the community aspect the bad and the good. and I don't get why that's the case since were both on controller and as survivor I can play with my friends and play against Xbox One players but I cant as a killer.
Maybe if I could get some sort of conformation if this is a issue or intentional that'd be great. so I don't keep my hopes up. Either way a answer would be super appreciated
Also does anyone know if its the same way on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
