What do you think can fix gen rushing?

I wanna hear all kinds of different opinions. Doesn't matter if you only play killer, or survivor or a bit of both.

  • So far, the best solution is finding gas cans or mechanical parts. Something is needed for the early game that is for sure. Currently, killers are forced to use hex:ruin to create their own early games but it should have been a part of the game, not a perk.
Survivors starting to do their objectives right away is not manageable if you don't use billy or nurse. Even the best killers in the game prefer ruin for killers like huntress, hag and Myers.
When they introduce a good early game mechanic, they can nerf or even remove ruin from the game.
I think finding gas cans is a neat idea. It will be less boring and more exploration oriented at least.
Adding gens or increasing time to repair gens will just make the game more boring.

  • I play both here.

Totems need to be severely adjusted to be harder to find, and/or harder to break, and NEVER spawn within the vicinity of a survivor, generator, or hook.
I had a fairly unpopular perk idea that would allow totems to regen once broken, and potentially swap positions.

Hex Ruin could no longer be a totem, or played into the better hiding notion above since it's about the only thing that works fast enough to intercept a gen rush. 3 gens can get done in 1:30 and the other 2 in about a minute and a half after that. There are literally vids on youtube showing this, and I cannot wrap my mind around how one can create enough map pressure to stop a 3 minute gen rush.

Generators no longer spawn in the immediate vicinity of survivors though that would be near impossible on smaller maps like Freddy, or Myers.

Speed up kicking gens, and/or the regression.

Add a very slow regression when the gen isn't being worked on.

  • A perk or killer base kit power that will slow down gen repair speed while the killer is in a chase.
