Hatch Stand-off Quick Fix Idea

So I just had this thought whilst browsing the forums, and as someone who also completely hates hatch stand-offs playing as either side, what if the surrounding area of the hatch (my thoughts are a 6m radius around it) becomes a 1-hit down(exposed) zone that only triggered when the hatch is opened due to 1 remaining survivor (so it doesn't apply when opened by a key). As we all know, the current issue is that it's no fun for either side when you're both just standing there either waiting to get hit or waiting for the survivor to jump. With the idea of a small radius around it becoming an exposed zone (basically a small NOED zone I guess), it rewards killers for finding the hatch first meaning that they will be able to down and pick up the survivor before they can crawl to it if they found it first and the survivor still goes for it.

While this is no means are perfect or long term solution for hatch stand-offs, as they will still exist if the survivor manages to get close enough to the hatch before the killer can hit them allowing them to jump in if they do get downed, at the least for the mean time it will mean that if the killers find it first, and see the survivor going for it in time and not miss their attack, they can be rewarded for finding it first and the survivor trying their luck/skill/(or perhaps greed?) and failing. It would encourage survivors to either go do a gen or try and bait the killer outside the zone and juke them and sneak in. If the killer leave the hatch, just do gens and escape, if he does, then you've taken him out of the exposed zone, allowing you to either make it to the hatch in time, or take a hit and go for it.

Just a quick thought I had, I don't really see a downside to this idea, nor a long term solution, but I feel it would be an effective short-term solution at least that would make last man hatch scenarios better and more interesting.
Thoughts?

  • They'll just stand outside the radios.

When you have an idea try to think : how can they abuse this? In this case, stay out of the radius and wait, that's it. Won't fix anything since if they got hit they are able to take the hatch anyways

The end game needs a rework, these easy fixes ain't gonna fix nothing
  • You do know you can grab someone jumping into the hatch like you can people mid vault, right?
It's not a one hit down, but it's probably the next best thing.
  • Give us a tl;dr , don't feel like reading the story time. Thanks.
