The gen auras show if someone worked on them

I played a round of blight when I noticed something. I had a 3 gen situation and stood still for a moment since I needed to drink something and was facing a gen trough a wall. It was regressing but I could see trough the wall these little 4 things moving. I went away a bit and looked at the gens from a bit of distance and you can still see it and it's far more then the gen sound.

Is that intended or a bug?

    It's intended. The aura let's you see the affected object as is through line of sight blockers. If the pistons are moving, you see them. Much like when you see survivors' auras and you can observe their current animation.
