An Easy Solution To A Complex Problem? - SWF

So this is one of those topics that makes tempers flare.

On one hand, the incredible advantage that an SWF group grants for survivors is hard to overstate. The game simply does not feel balanced around the level of coordination and information sharing that voicecoms, and a unified strategy provide.

This is only going to get worse, with the upcoming changes.

However, balancing killers around SWF groups would be extremely unfair to solo players. As has been often mentioned in this topic, you don't want to punish people for playing with their friends.

The solution: use MMR cleverly here. Other games already do this. If you play a premade, your MMR is slightly inflated - increasing proportional to the number of people in said premade.

This means that, if you group together, you are likely to be matched against a proportionally more skilled opponent to offset the advantage that increased coordination gives you.

Bing bam boom - everyone wins.
