Does the key still need to have charges to open the hatch on the PTB?

Just curious and don't want to download the PTB. Does Franklins removal of charges still work on keys and is it still necessary to make sure it still has charges in order to open the hatch?

Key still need to have charges. You may think its dumb but its probably because of the addon

I don't think it's dumb, I think its nice that killers can counter it if they choose to.
