When will the devs fix the terrible patch process? Hours of verifying, patching, corrupt files...

I am referring to the Steam PC patching process. Everyone is aware of this issue that plays on Steam. People have been complaining FOR YEARS about this issue on Reddit, this forum, etc. where every new patch breaks the game and the best solution is usually to reinstall the game. Has there ever been any official communication about this issue? It's unbearable and this issue alone has almost gotten too frustrating to deal with.

If you somehow aren't aware of this issue, it goes like this: Once the patch is done downloading, you aren't even close to getting ready to play. The next stage is a patching process. This usually takes 10 minutes. Not bad, right? Unfortunately, you're not done yet. Next, Steam will tell you that the files need to be verified, which takes an additional 20 minutes. This is where it starts to suck. After it's done verifying, then Steam will give you a message that the game is corrupt. Then you have to manually verify the game files through Steam's interface by right clicking the game's name in your library and fixing it. This will take you 45 minutes. Then you can maybe play if all goes well.

This is extremely frustrating, and usually will take you 2 hours to get through the patching process. This deserves an official response.
