A Potential fix to the Killer wait times.
Let's face it, everyone wants to get those killer vials and once you leave the yellow and green ranks this becomes a slog. This just means that we all need to de-pip to get short wait times again, the answer? Camp.
The developers were kind enough to give us a built-in emblem punishment for staying near a hooked survivor. So to minimize emblems and de-pip just hook and camp folks!

I just farmed with the survivors a bit and always blackpiped.
Sure, now most survivors are done with their phials, then camping in order to lose emblems sounds like a good idea. We can be glad that the devs thought about the problems the event causes and introduce emblem punishment with the same patch.
